I've worn Birkenstocks for more than 40 years. I own three pairs at a time: one for going out; one for around the house; one for working in the garden. As each pair ages, I pass it down to the next level of use until the sole of the garden pair has worn all the way through (this process takes a number of years!) and then I toss out that pair and buy a new dress pair. I wear no other kind of shoes. I love the support, the ease of use (they slip on; they grip; they slip off only when you want them to!) and most of all the comfort!

DAYS LATER: I just now read all the negative reviews. . . . .No, these are not the same as the original Birks, but they also don't cost as much. I have no problem with the straps, or the fit (contrary to the reviews by other users), or the indentation, etc. etc. I've been wearing my new pair for several weeks now, and still have no complaints. I chose these BECAUSE they are cheaper than the other Birkenstock models, so I did not expect the same materials. They fit great, however, and I would buy them again (barring any unforeseen developments. . . .)

These are my 3rd set. This version is terrific - I'm not at all vegan but I prefer this material to leather, and am not sure why. It just feels better to me. I think it also looks better to boot. Be warned that the cork base does start to break apart after about 3 years of regular use, but what do you expect? They're shoes and they take a beating. However, comfort is unmatched. The provider took about a month to deliver, but great quality and got the right sandal/right size so am very happy despite the wait.

I love these, they hurt the bottom of your feet at first, then when broken in, they are great. I have been told that once they are broken in, you will want them on all the time.

As suggested, I bought a size smaller than normal. They are a little wide but are unisex so I expected that. They are so comfortable I simply cannot say enough! At first they were a little hard but even then they were amazing and soon they mold to your feet. After getting heal bursitis I could only wear these and wear them I did - all day long - they feel orthopedic and my feet healed too. I love these shoes! I also bought cork renew, Kelly's brand because it was cheaper and that keeps the sides nice and waterproof. I will continue to wear burkies for the rest of my life. I know some think they are not so cute but I love my black ones and will try other colors in the future.

I had skinny feet so they would feel a bit loose even when i tightened them but I’ve grew a lil so I grew into them. They are super comfortable with socks and pretty durable, I mean I had them for a year and they went through a lot. The fit is accurate and id say they are value for the money. Easy to clean but get dirty quickly if you wear them outside and barefoot. If you wear white socks…. Those are going to get dirty pretty quickly so get ready to invest in new socks every 6 months unless you don’t wear these outside or a lot.

Shoes are very good quality, however i read reviews and as i usually am size 9 i bought a size smaller as some said, guess what, they were too small!! Had to send them back and buy the correct size, they were ok length wise but just too narrow
