    For an underwater adventure, there sure was a lot going on. The wave children fighting to save their ocean, the wicked witch trying to take over the underworld, the outcasts mad because they're outcasts, an orphan finds her biologicals, love is spread around, and a love story told from beginning to end. You must read the previous three books to understand all that's happening here. In the end, love prevails.

    This is my first book of the series, I really enjoyed it and will get to read the rest of the Children of the Waves Series to get more of the story I missed. Shawnah and Cyrus had an amazing chemistry, I definitely enjoyed the story and loved the characters, the world built by LaVerne Thompson is refreshing, I would love to see this series on audiobook, and looking forward to reading more.

    He smiled up at her. She blinked, then blushed. He was pretty and made her stomach feel funny.

    I just bet he did!

    This is a really cool concept of the children of Poseidon finding their mates and being torn between living on land and being at sea. I wasn’t sure if this is YA or new adult.

    I was so excited when this book came out. I absolutely adore the Children of the Waves Series. LaVerne Thompson did a wonderful job with this one. There is hotness, family dynamics, mystery and dram all rolled up to create an AWESOME read.

    Shawnah and Cyrus are a great match. They have amazing chemistry and a great protectiveness for each other. Shawnah inherited a new role for her life and she went into it full stream ahead with her man right by here. It was also great to catch up with the couples from the other books in the series. I highly recommend this read and you getting it for your library. You will not be disappointed.

    Sea Child is the fourth book in the Children of the Waves series. A unique take on mer-people, this story focuses on Shawnah and Cyrus. Shawnah is the daughter of Tabatha, the White Witch, and Cyrus is the youngest child of Poseidon. Children of Poseidon are fated to have one mate, and Shawnah is his. As Shawnah navigates a new underwater world, a new mate, and a new title, she must also beware of the dangers that lurk, including her power-hungry, evil mother.

    This is a fast-paced romance story with action, adventure, and steamy romance! I like the immersive and fantastical world, the unique characters, and the fresh spin on mythological beings. I also like how the characters from the first three books in the series have continued roles in this book.

    As this is the fourth book in the series, I would recommend reading the first three. This would be difficult, though not impossible, to read as a stand-alone story since many of the characters and events referenced are from the previous books. Reading the series in order provides important context. Thanks so much to Netgalley and the publisher for a copy of the book in exchange for an honest review!
