Stephen Swartz is the author of literary fiction, science fiction, fantasy, romance, and contemporary horror novels. While growing up in Kansas City, he dreamed of traveling the world. His novels feature exotic locations, foreign characters, and smatterings of other languages--strangers in strange lands. You get the idea: life imitating art.

    In the first book of this series, The Dream Land, Stephen Swartz created a unique plot involving two worlds, both the world we live in and the world of Ghoupallesz. His characters are deep and not always possessed of good intentions. Swartz's forte is wrapping plots around the slings and arrow of fate that befall naïve young people, with his trademark style of dry wit and sarcastic humor.

    Sebastian is both naïve and worldly, and he is both young and old. Gina was never naïve, with her own agenda. Tammy is herself, no matter what comes along. No matter how many lives they live, they are all still the same people, making the wrong choices for the right reasons.

    This tale, as was the first book in the series, is a complex, richly layered tale of lives and deaths experienced, and also of dreams versus realities and the blurred line between. Sometimes you want to smack Sebastian to get him on track, but as always Swartz has a reason for the sometimes strange plot twists. You never know what is coming next in this series, and this book is certainly an adventure
