Margot Cleveland, a Dearborn resident since 2007 and senior legal correspondent for The Federalist, a conservative online publication, filed a 42-page complaint Thursday in U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan.

Represented by the American Freedom Law Center, a nonprofit legal group, Cleveland alleges city officials spent taxpayer money on Ramadan displays while ignoring her requests for equal recognition of Easter and Passover.

The complaint accuses Mayor Abdullah Hammoud and the city of violating the Establishment Clause, which prohibits the government from favoring one religion over another, as well as Cleveland’s free speech and equal protection rights.

I don’t know about you, but when we look for words of wisdom on world issues, we tend to shy away from anyone whose primary audience is toddlers on YouTube. In particular Rachel Griffin Accurso, better known as “Ms. Rachel,” who has once again inserted herself into an international firestorm, by calling on “every wealthy, white celebrity” to match her $1 million donation to support Palestine.

The call comes in the wake of rapper Macklemore’s removal from Ed Sheeran’s Loop tour after Macklemore called to “Free Palestine” during a 2-minute speech followed by a performance of his anti-Israel song Hinds Hall during his opening act at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey, on Sept. 4th and 5th.

After his dismissal, the rapper announced on Instagram he was donating his tour proceeds to six different charities, some with alleged terrorist ties- the Palestine Children’s Relief Fund (PCRF), HEAL Palestine, Gaza Soup Kitchen, Medical Aid for Palestinians, UNRWA USA National Committee and American Near East Refugee Aid (ANERA).

When CNN’s Erin Burnett wants to offer up a hot take, she launders it through former Trump lawyer-turned anti-Trump doomsday prophet Ty Cobb. Earlier this week, Burnett welcomed Cobb to spread baseless conspiracy theories about the upcoming midterms, while in August, she invited Cobb to compare the Trump DOJ to a cast of Nazis. This Friday, Cobb was more diverse in his dictator analogies as he suggested Trump’s effort to ban CNN, MS NOW, and Politico from the White House was part of a Hitlerian, Stalinist, and Putinist dream to shut them down altogether.

Burnett began by putting the ball on the tee, “I want to go now to Ty Cobb. He’s a former Trump White House lawyer. Ty, from a legal standpoint, does Trump have any basis to ban CNN, MS NOW, Politico? And he says more to come from the White House.”

A week ago, NBC’s Saturday edition of Today highlighted what it considered an in-depth report from its Boston affiliate on the lone holdout juror in the Lindsay Clancy triple murder trial but in reality was just a doxing operation. Now, a week later, correspondent Emilie Ikeda reported on the threats to the juror but omitted any role NBC had in exposing the man to threats and harassment.

Ikeda began by declaring that, “The sole holdout is breaking his silence, publicly identifying himself as Michael Desronvil. In a statement shared by his attorney, he said he kept getting cut off during deliberations and that he thought the prosecution had enough proof that Clancy knew exactly what she was doing and planned, also saying, ‘I didn’t have any doubts.’ In contrast to what other jurors, including the foreperson, have suggested since the mistrial.”

She then played a clip of jury foreperson Roni Carlson telling NBC10 Boston, “He admitted he had reasonable doubt, and I started filling out the forms…and then he said, but I’m still not going to say that she’s not guilty by reason of insanity.”

Officials in Hennepin County, Minnesota, shut down a $2 million relief fund for businesses claiming to be affected by federal immigration enforcement after officials discovered widespread fraud among applicants, forcing them to end the program. The county board created the fund to help businesses “harmed” by Operation Metro Surge, the federal immigration enforcement operation that began in December 2025. Federal agents shot and killed two U.S. citizens, Renee Good and Alex Pretti, in Minneapolis in January, turning it into one of the most scrutinized immigration enforcement actions in the country.

The American Federation of Teachers, the U.S.’ second-largest teachers union and a major Democrat ally, has teamed up with Microsoft to craft rules for AI in education. The American Federation of Government Employees, a federal government union endorsing Democrats, aims to incorporate AI influence into union contracts. Meanwhile, the LGBTQ+ activist group GLAAD has published guidelines to shape the way AI companies build their systems.

Each group targets a different layer of the AI ecosystem. AFT shapes how AI enters classrooms. AFGE seeks influence over how government agencies deploy AI. GLAAD targets the underlying rules governing training data, content moderation, and AI model behavior.

“If Republicans in Congress continue to wait on passing commonsense AI safeguards, we are going to lose the fight to the activist Left,” Janet Kelly, CEO of the Alliance for a Better Future, told the Daily Signal in a statement Friday. “Teachers unions and radical advocacy groups aren’t waiting. They are already working to pressure tech companies to strangle innovation and inject woke priorities directly into the code.”

An elderly Walmart customer was beaten to death by the parents of a teen employee who he had argued with after accusing her of nearly ramming his wife with a shopping cart, according to his grieving widow.

Bert Atienza died of blunt head trauma at a hospital on June 8, a day after two people attacked him inside a Walmart in Norfolk, Va., WTKR reported on Monday.

“He said, ‘You almost hit my wife with your heavy cart, and you did not even say excuse me or apologize to her,’” Josephine Atienza told the outlet.

“If he sees things that he doesn’t like, he will tell it to you straightforward. That’s how it is. He doesn’t care who you are,” Josephine said, explaining her husband’s personality.

Atienza and the unidentified employee argued for a moment before the worker chucked a can towards the couple as they walked away, she said.

The teen allegedly called her parents for backup and Travis White and Erika Mitchell were hunting down the elderly couple inside the store minutes later.

Thousands of migrants charged through the streets of Ceuta on Friday as police attempted to move them to a new camp.

The migrants, the majority of whom had travelled to the Spanish territory from Morocco, had been sleeping rough on beaches for weeks, waiting to be relocated to an official camp in the port area.

The crowds reportedly became impatient when only a few officials arrived to facilitate the move, and began running towards the new camp just before 7am on Friday.

States with strong teachers’ unions are the least likely to adopt policies that improve early-literacy outcomes, Progressive Policy Institute Education Policy Director Rachel Canter explains, reporting the results of the Institute’s analysis.

“Powerful teachers’ unions are an obstacle to reform. But Mississippi’s dramatic breakthrough proves that evidence-based literacy can succeed anywhere,” Canter writes in her Wall Street Journal article, “Mississippi Fixed Its Schools. Here’s How Other States Can Too.”

Canter presents the new policies that helped rocket Mississippi, from a last-place tie in fourth grade reading and math in 2019 to seventh in reading and 13th math in 2024, as a template for states looking to improve their early education results.

Many states haven’t adopted these policies, Canter writes, noting the differences between those states that do, and don’t, embrace the reforms – such as the degree of influence of teachers’ unions.

A report published this week by civil liberties and privacy campaigning organisation Big Brother Watch states that more than 62,000 people in the United Kingdom were arrested for communications offences over a five year period, with at least 18,500 charged and 12,292 convicted. These numbers should alarm anyone who still believes the citizen is master and the state is servant.

Paramount Skydance Chairman and CEO David Ellison is exploring a potential California exit as the studio battles a multistate challenge to its $111 billion acquisition of Warner Bros. Discovery.

Politico reported late Wednesday that the studio is seeking roughly 400,000 square feet of office space in Nashville, signaling that its relocation is in the works. We have reported in the last few days and last month of Paramount’s plan to exit the left-wing state (read here & here).

The studio could move at least some operations to the Tennessee capital within two to three years, according to the report. No relocation has been announced, but the search raises the risk that California could lose a major Hollywood studio headquarters. Such a loss would deepen concerns about the state’s ability to retain businesses as its entertainment industry struggles and the exodus of businesses and residents shows no signs of stopping.

The same online machine that turned a confessed child killer into a cause has a new target. After hanging Lindsay Clancy’s murder trial, the lone holdout juror’s family says TikTok extremists have them trapped indoors, leaving notes at his mother’s house and refusing to let them live in peace.

The juror’s brother told the New York Post that the family’s life has been flipped over since the September 4 mistrial in Plymouth, Massachusetts. He rejected the claim that Catholic faith drove the holdout vote.

“I don’t think religion had anything to do with it,” he said. “He looked at the case, and he made the call. For me, that’s how I would do it. I would just listen to the case with all the evidence, and go from there.”

“Teen takeovers” have gone from a social-media spectacle to a serious public-safety issue. While the name conjures images of high schoolers innocently hanging around a drive-in à la American Graffiti, at its core, this phenomenon is about sowing violence and chaos—and leaving communities to deal with the consequences.

The 2026 Wisconsin State Fair concluded its final evening with a massive brawl, during which violent “teens” swarmed the park and beat unassuming fair guests. One man was kicked and beaten as he lay in the fetal position. Earlier this summer, a teen takeover at a Chipotle in Washington, D.C., forced frightened patrons to scramble as youths began throwing chairs and screaming.

In cities across the nation, the same pattern of brutality has emerged: swarms of young, primarily black teenagers will suddenly invade a public space to fight, threaten police, destroy private property, and occasionally get involved in shootings.

This is happening because over the past decade, our public institutions have encouraged black Americans to see themselves as perpetual victims of so-called systemic discrimination. As Spencer Klavan points out in his analysis of the fast-evolving political climate, “Wokeness in all its form is grievance politics.” Activists expanded DEI programs, decried America’s alleged systemic racism, and pushed for prison-abolition movements and reparations.

The behavior at teen takeovers is an outgrowth of the so-called peaceful demonstrations Black Lives Matter encouraged during the height of the George Floyd protests. Though the BLM movement has gradually lost traction—its corruption is widespread, and policies like abolishing the police are unpopular—its cultural influence endures.

Constant exposure to BLM has shown young people that if they commit wanton acts of violence en masse, they can get what they want. They can hop fences, smash windows, blast music, and brawl in the streets—and Democratic politicians will then attack peaceful citizens, demanding that they give away their livelihood and communities to correct “systemic injustices.”

A Frisco ISD high school is facing scrutiny after a classroom was reportedly being used as a prayer room exclusively for Muslim students.

Earlier this month, RAIR Foundation USA reported that Liberty High School in Frisco ISD was using a classroom for Muslim students to pray for two hours a day.

“Frisco ISD taxpayers are paying for a Muslims-only prayer room inside Liberty High School,” RAIR Foundation USA reported.

According to an introduction video posted by the student club, called the Liberty Muslim Student Association, the room was “meant a [sic] space for Muslims to pray,” and “not a hang out spot,” and that “only Muslims will be allowed in.” RAIR Foundation USA reposted the video. The video has since been deleted.
