Vera Griffin was Patsy Steven's mother and a prolific artist. After learning to paint, she taught painting for 15 years in west Texas. 35 of her paintings are displayed on this site.

Vera Griffin's account of her life in 1993. She tells about growing up on a farm, her interest in music and art. There are pictures and stories about her family, and drawings Vera made for the autobiography.

Jessie Carrell's autobiography
Jessie Carrell was Vera Griffin's mother and Patsy Stevens' grandmother. She wrote this autobiography in 1969. She recounts stories that her mother told of the Civil War and her own remembrances of her childhood and early life in Tennessee and Texas.
