HI, I'M HEIDI. I make childhood softer.

Heidikins started in 2016 at my kitchen table with one pair of needles, a rescue cat, and a dream: to make baby things that outlive trends.

What began as knitting bonnets for friends' babies is now a tiny Vermont studio where 6 makers dye, knit, stitch and embroider everything by hand. We work in small batches of 20-30 pieces — never mass-produced, never rushed.

We use only GOTS-certified merino, organic cotton, Belgian linen and corozo buttons. Our dyes are low-impact and baby-safe. Every seam is French-seamed, every knot is buried, every doll face is hand-embroidered to be perfectly imperfect — just like childhood.

Fast fashion takes 3 hours. Ours takes 7 days — and lasts 30 years. Here's why our mothers mend, not replace.

Dye & rest. We kettle-dye GOTS yarn in honey, oat, cinnamon and sage. Then rest 48h for colorfast softness.

Knit & cut. Bonnets are hand-knit; rompers cut from pre-shrunk jersey. Zero waste — scraps become doll stuffing.

Sew & embroider. French seams, hand-embroidered moons, initials free on request. Signed by maker.

Handmade means honest timelines. We knit to order in 5-10 days. Need it for a baby shower Saturday? Message us — we keep a tiny ready-to-ship shelf.

How do I wash heirloom knits? +
Hand-wash cold with mild soap, roll in towel, lay flat. Our merino is pre-shrunk and gets softer with each wash. Never wring, never tumble-dry. Full guide included in every box.
What size should I order? +
Our rompers have foldable cuffs and fit 3 sizes (e.g., 3-12m). Bonnets have adjustable ties. When in doubt, size up — Heidikins is designed to grow with your baby for 12+ months.
Are materials safe for newborns? +
Yes. GOTS-certified organic merino and cotton, OEKO-TEX dyes, corozo nut buttons (no plastic, no nickel). Tagless and flat-seamed for eczema-prone skin.
How does free repair work? +
Send any Heidikins piece back — we darn, re-knit cuffs or replace buttons free, forever. You pay shipping one way. 4,200+ pieces saved from landfill so far.
Can I personalize a doll or bonnet? +
