And so I have packed up my "stuff" and I am headed back to Blogger. Come see me at my new/old home. I am switching gears! This blog is going to be much different and MUCH improved. At least, I hope so.
Please keep in touch!

Happy New Year. It's been a rough day today and I don't really feel like getting into it. It's petty and stupid and not the right way to start a fresh year.
I have decided over the past few weeks that I am going to stop blogging for a while. I just don't have much to say anymore and I would rather not write if it isn't meaningful.
Thanks for your support throughout these past few years. I will continue to read your blogs and keep in touch.
I wish you all a healthy and safe new year and I hope this year brings you much hope and joy.

Ed H.ardy Shoes. I just got these from eB.ay and they are so fun. And loud. I just love them.
Remember Easy Reader from the Electric Company?
I never realized it was Morgan Freeman. Watch the whole thing...you'll wet yourself. And then you'll wonder why our parents let us watch this!

One poop accident in the past 6 days. That is WORLDS better. I am so glad.
Now if I could just get K to start talking. He gets so frustrated and he cries a big chunk of the time because he can't communicate very well. It doesn't help that all he wants to eat is candy.
*sigh*

Thanks so much for all of the supportive words in response to my last post. It really means a lot to me and it made me feel like I am not alone, which is so important.
An update: I saw my shrink yesterday and we discussed my irritability with A and so on. He told me that A's behavior is typical of a child who is under stress. He is having trouble adjusting to Kindergarten. In other words, he is great at school and does a good job holding it together while at school...and then he comes home and unloads. Both metaphorically and literally. So I need to:
a) cut him a bit of slack
b) schedule potty time
c) work on staying calm
So we have done these things and for the second day in a row, he had no poop accidents. :-) Praise be! I know two days isn't exactly a trend, but when you're cleaning out underwear at least once a day, every day, it sure is an improvement. He's also been a lot more pleasant, as have I.
I should also mention that the doctor upped my Pro.zac to 40 mg instead of 30 a day.

M got in a minor car accident yesterday. He called me from the road on the way home from work to tell me that he had been rear-ended at a red light and that the guy who hit him pushed him into the car in front of him, busting up both bumpers and the trunk/hood of the car. Thankfully no one got hurt and the guy who hit him was very cooperative. Said he doesn't know what happened, he just wasn't paying attention and *boom*. The car is not drive-able, so M had to get a rental. So this guy's insurance is paying for damages and providing us the rental car until ours is fixed. The goddamn car isn't even 6 months old yet...oh, well. I guess it could have been much worse.

This weekend we have two Christmas parties to attend and we are hosting a lunch on Sunday with some neighbors. So much for a relaxing weekend...
Done my Christmas shopping, which should help matters a bit*.
*If you're wondering, yes we do celebrate Christmas. We light the menorah for Hannukah because my Father and his side of the family is Jewish, and I want to expose the boys to both traditions as they grow up.

I hate my older son right now. I mean, I love him, but right now I hate him. I don't like his personality. He is a selfish little shit kid who doesn't listen to a word I say. He pushes me to the absolute limit several times a day (keep in mind he's at school from 8:30 to 3:30). I feel like I am in a constant state of irritation with him and I find myself yelling at him the majority of the time.
The really awful part about this is that K (the younger son) is a complete doll right now. He is snuggly and cute and he listens to me when I say no. And he's two! He should be the one giving me grief. But he's such a lovable sweet little guy and I love spending time with him. It makes me feel terrible that I am almost favor K. Not on purpose. Just because of the situation.
I guess when you're in a constant state of mad at one child and not at the other, it must be natural to feel this way. Right?
What is really sparking this is A's attitude. He talks back a lot. He challenges me when I say no. He flat out laughs at me sometimes. And don't think he gets away with much...he is in trouble when he does these things. I don't give in when I say no, either. But he never fails to come back with, "but Mom, I just want to 'fill-in-the-blank'". Or, "I don't care. I want to do it." Or the one I love, "But I NEED to". And the answer is always no. ALWAYS. I usually get to screaming at that point.
Maybe he's the type of kid who wants any kind of attention he can get no matter what kind. Don't think that I don't praise him. I praise the living bejesus out of him when he does something right. I reward him with special "us" time, small tokens, or treats. I give him more privileges. And then he turns around and shits all over everything. Literally.
His latest problem is having poop accidents. He hasn't done this in almost 2 years. And then after Kindergarten started, he started this. And it's gotten progressively worse. He does about 4 times a week now. The kind where he catches it right as it hits the underwear so it's just bad enough to have to rinse and wash the undies. And he never does it at school. Only at home.
So I am at a complete loss with this child. The biggest zinger is that he's an angel at school. His teacher said he is the "model student" and he's a good role model for other kids in the class. Everyone likes him and wants to be his partner. So who is the devil's spawn who gets in my car every afternoon at school? Where is my angel? What am I doing wrong?
*sigh* I just want to run away sometimes.

Sorry I haven't been posting much. I hope you all are still out there...
K turned two on Saturday. I can't believe my little baby is two!! Poor guy is sick but he still had a pretty pleasant day. We made him a cake and A and K helped me decorate it. Very cute.
A had his first dry night EVER last night! He took off his overnight diaper this morning as usual and I guess he didn't even notice it was dry because he didn't say anything. I found it sitting on the bathroom floor and it was dry and clean. I nearly threw a party. We gave him a cute Transformer watch that I was saving for him and he's now obsessed with the time.
Not much else new really. I have some cute pictures from Hanukkah and K's birthday that I will post later on.
