My lords of the Ordo M...ERROR..(REDACTED)..um, find appended for eyes and sensory inputs only recent pict captures by our undercover operatives and co-opted servitors on Mezoa.

These captures appear to confirm that after 24 Solar Cycles the Mezoan Interdictory has returned!

The Interdictory has re-established a presence on the Forgeworld of Mezoa and is now operating in the open after being hidden for almost a quarter of a Century.

The databanks of the Ordo Mechinum register this elusive non heretical aspect of the Cult Mechanicus as being unique to the forges of Mezoa. Historical context confirms they act as a stabilising investigatory force tasked with a role similar to that of our own sacred Ordo. Their remit is to root out tech heresy and apostasy within the realms of the Mezoan Priesthood and the Knights of House Hermetika. Their members are often drawn from numerous roles within the Forges auspices ranging from lowly Geneitors and Historitors through to the High Priests of Mezoa and the Sacristan Lords of Hermetika.

This forces absence has been absent for an unusual length of time with no details available at present, however their absence has been linked to an Ork based incursion in the Northern reaches of the Mezoan Sector due to the capture of the keyword “SKULLZ” being heard on their encrypted noo-spheric data channels. In recent months rumours of their return have been building following the pict capture of an Encarii pattern Tachypleus (OM-Pict Capture REF: 20211007INS746R4M) bearing their icons. The concern amongst those of the Ordo aware of this is that their return will identify and lead to the removal of our assets from the field as whilst our goals align there a many previous examples of the Interdictory engaging in open warfare with our assets to protect the sovereignty of their realm.

Your Humble servant would suggest that were the Ordo to dispatch an Inquisitional Delegation to meet with the Lords of Mezoa this would, with a 89.943753953% degree of certainty, distract the Mezoan priests from investigating further by focusing their attention on the delegation, thus protecting our assets and allowing our holy work to continue undetected.

Assassination Attempts!

An unknown group of assassins observed operating within the confines of the moon forges of Mezoa. Their provenance and tasking is as yet unknown.

Detection of these assets has caused grave concern within the Mezoan Interdictory as to have pulled together operatives from the main clades in to a single kill team suggests there are as yet unidentified high level players, likely the Inquisition, operating within the area unannounced.

A trio of deadly accurate Sydonian Skatros snipers. Within the forges of Mezoa these leathal soldiers are part of the Alta Puerorum Clade of warriors and are assigned to battle hosts whenever the need arises.

Samson Heavy Lifter - Aeronautia Imperialis

A massive Samson Class cargo lifter, one of the work orbital workhorses from the fleet of the Andraxis Rogue Trader dynasty, making planet fall on the landing fields of Mezoa.

This brilliant model from @broncofish / @grimdarkterrain is another that I picked up to use as terrain in Aeronautica Imperialis and Legions Imperialis games. I thought it would be cool to theme this as well to match my large scale Graia pattern lander I have for 28mm terrain. Added the two BU-11 landers from @bitsblitzdesigns and a paint pot to show scale in the last picture.

A pair of BU-11 lifters from the fleet of the Andraxis Rogue Trader dynasty make planet fall on the landing fields of Mezoa after an absence of some years due to ongoing local conflicts.

These are a pair of cool little flyers from @bitsblitzdesigns that I picked up to use as terrain in Aeronautica Imperialis and Legions Imperialis games. I thought it would be cool to theme them to match my large scale Graia pattern lander I have for 28mm terrain. Cool little models and simple to paint to what I think is a good standard.

1313th, Prepare for Boarding Actions!!

After 10 long years transiting the warp and with ample chance to rearm and prepare their war gear the 1313th Lignum Iugo is now on deployment to investigate the hulk known as the Gallowdark.

After what seems an age and with the new cadians on the way I’ve decided to repurpose my existing guard models to form a Kill team for Gallowdark. With some repainting, rebasing and tweaking of details these fourteen or so models will for the core of my veteran guardsman team giving me options. The rest of the force will be finished in a similar style and destined to be used as a space hulk force once those rules are out.

Aeronautica Imperialis - Ser Amerand 65th Search and Rescue Squadron

Members of the flight crews of the Imperial Navy Cruiser Ser Amerand 65th Search and Rescue Squadron are amongst the most highly skilled pilots in the vessel compliment. Tasked with recovery of VIPs, Pilots and other note worthy Imperial denizens the pilots operate both in the Void and Planet side in a variety of craft.

Their aircraft markings follow a long tradition whose meaning and origin has long been lost to time but requires their aircraft to be brightly liveried and marked to demonstrate their lack of fear that the enemy can see them and to give a visible sign of hope to those they rescue.

Inspired by the old RAF search and rescue Westland Wessex helicopters I was tempted to do this after seeing Rusty Plastics work on a similar project on a full size Arvus on instagram. I like to think I've replicated this well:

Aeronautica Imperialis - Formicis Planum?

Never the most fortunate of chapters the Lamenters have always suffered their ill fate in stoic silence. This luck appeared as if it had started to turn for them after the rise of the Primarch. Shortly prior to the gaining of their Primaris bretheren the chapter miraculously received news of a massively overdue resupply shipment coming in from the Forge world of Ryza.

The jubilation at this resupply however was short lived, the expected arms and armaments were not forthcoming and the shipment amounted to a single, ancient pattern, Thunderhawk that was barely armed or battleworthy.

The Ryzan contingent, not wanting to be marred by the foul luck of the Lamenters, delivered this single vessel via remote pilot. On delivery in to the Lamenters flagship hangers the final transmission the received by the Ryzan fleet before breaking orbit as rapidly as decorum allowed was a single archaic and cryptic phrase in high gothic - quid est hoc, formicis planum?

The 189th Parovian "Emperors Gambit" Air Wing is listed on Imperial records as being a mixed combat unit of Valkyries and Vultures.

Painted using the guide on the Warhammer TV youtube channel i think these have turned out great. A few detail tweaks and the addition of some of the "Chess" themed transfers (hence the unit name) from the Titanicus sheets and i think we have a winner

Finally got round to painting some of my Tiny planes as well!

This thunderhawk belongs to Inquisitor Castlegar as he accompanies the Indomitus fleets. The use of the blue is to show his alignment to the crusade.

This is another vehicle pained using u/warhipster techniques for contrast paints on vehicles and the weathering (which I hope comes out clearly on the pics) is simple a HB pencil rubbed along leading edges or occasionally streaked down the vehicle where something large may have hit it.

It’s also my first decent attempt at chipping and looks pretty decent imho. The entire thing apart from the metals is done using contrasts, but even the metals are shaded with contrast paints.

Mezoan Forges - The Corpuscarii Priesthood

A pic capture of the oft secretive Electro Priests of the Mezoan Order of the Brotherhood of the Divine Current, more commonly known as the Corpuscarii Order.

Mezoa is almost unique amongst the Forges of the Omnissiah in that the two divergent temples of the Motive force, whilst maintaining their separate worship and traditions, follow the teachings of the "Tacet semita fumi".

To use its lay name the "Path of the Silent Smoke" celebrates the destruction of the Omnissiahs enemies and their extinction and resulting carbon rich release using the Motive force.

This worship of the Carbon Release (or smoke) seems to link back to Mezoas Volcanic nature and the Creed of the Mezoan Cult. There have also being links drawn to some of the Practices of the Salamanders Adeptus Astartes but no verification of this link has been possible.

Some fun little conversions for my first Electro Priests using the Delaque Gang bodies, the arms and weapons from the electro priest box and some Stormcast heads. Hit it with some contrast paints and nhilak oxide and boom done.

The reach of Mezoan powers also extends beyond the hallowed surface to the upper reaches of their Fluorocarbon rich atmosphere in craft such as this revered Archaeopter.

With fully magnatised wings, weapons and door guns, along with a little Easter egg on the base relating to one of my gaming groups force the first (and likely last) flyer for my army is done.

Mezoan Forges - Alpha Pattern Secutarii!

This unidentified Skitarii Marshall from the Forge world of Mezoa has recently been observed leading the Mezoan Hoplites in support of the Knight-Titans of House Hermetika.

To see such an high ranking Skitarii officer leading the Secutarii in support of Hermetika shows the esteem and reverence in which both forces hold one another.

A simple conversion on the plastic Marshall model, swap both arms for Hoplite arms and weapons, the head uses one of the standard Hoplite heads but then is surmounted by the crest from the plastic marshall to denote the higher rank.

Mezoan Forges - Leading the Way

Identified as Alpha-Prime Signus this warrior of Mezoa is known for taciturn leadership on the battlefield and an uncaring nature towards Mezoas more flesh based allies.

Reports suggest that Signus can often be seen throwing unaugmented allies in to battle before to soak up fire and clear potential traps before the Skitarii hordes to protect the machine-god's chosen warriors (and some suggest to provide additional raw materials for Skitarii or Servitor maniples).
Whatever the truth of this the fact is casualties amongst the Skitarii assigned to Signus are around 23.879% lower than those of other maniples.

Just a nice simple Alpha model for my skitarii. No conversions or anything special but still a good looking model to lead the army in small games.

Mezoan Forges - The Mysterious Tachypleus

This unusual looking vehicle and it’s origins is somewhat shrouded in mystery. Current Noospheric interrogation and data-link queries are all rejected and the processing cogitators are placed in to a data loop resulting in the rapid, and often thermodynamic, degradation of organic components.

Visual correlation of the pattern suggest, with a 95.38564 degree of certainty (allowing for standard servitor induced deviation) this is an Encarii pattern Tachypleus from the Aphyrion Forges. This obscure and pre-schism pattern is often used to fulfil a similar battlefield role as the Macrocarid Explorator but also offers a low enough profile to be used as regular conveyance.

This vehicles origin or ownership is subject of advanced levels of shrouding. The omicron level data baffles preventing Noospheric communion and obscuration filters that have a negative impact upon visual auspex servitors is highly unorthodox. This, when combined with the flank markings suggest that this vehicle, whilst operating under the colours of Mezoa, is actually employed under the auspices of the Ordo Mechinum. As a result of these findings all further information on this vehicle, and it’s occupants, is deemed Vermillion Level data and will no longer be parsed to the local Noospheric networks.

When fielded I use this one as a Macrocarid explorator, I’ve added the additional guns to the front represent this and make it more obvious it’s more heavily armed.

To build this model was much more difficult than the others. Ok so it’s only like 4 parts to build which is easy but something when wrong with the print unfortunately. As you can see from the pictures below the cure warped/contracted some of the components to such a degree that I had to get the power sander out and then still fill it. That said once it’s built it is damned solid and bloody heavy - I’m a wimp and had to keep putting it down.

All that aside I Can’t recommend the models enough and it can fulfil plenty of roles in an ad mech force.

Mezoan Forges - The Stalwart Venator Mangonel

An Okytus-Venator armed in the “Mangonel” pattern from the Aphyrion Forges advance across the rad wastes of Mezoa. The Okytus pattern is analogous with the more esoteric Onager Dunecrawler STC variants. The Okytus patterns rely on more traditional tracks for motive power compared to the intricate multi-limbed Dunecrawlers.

These venerable Okytus patterns are rare in the extreme but Mezoan forces revere and maintain them in small numbers. As a matter of honour they utilise them most commonly in service to the Knights of House Hermetika where their ancient battle spirits and stoic tracks grind forth as implacably as the Knights they accompany.

When fielded I use them as Dunecrawlers to fit alongside the hoplites in their Dunerider equivalent Okytus transports. To build the models we’re spot on. Everything pretty much slots together with very little effort, well designed and well laid out. Can’t recommend the models enough.

Mezoan Forges- The venerable Okytus-Chactidae

A pair of rare Okytus-Chactidae pattern Conveyors from the Anphyrion Forges advance across the rad wastes of Mezoa. The Okytus pattern is analogous with the more common Dunerider Skorpius STC variants. The Okytus relies on more traditional tracks for motive power compared to the troublesome repulsor technology of the Duneriders.

The venerable Okytus-Chactidae is most commonly seen in service along side the Knights of House Hermetika carrying their Mezoan Skitarii support clades in to battle.

Mezoan Raiders - Serberys Raiders and Sulphurhounds

To be promoted from the Skitarii maniples to the Serberys corps is a great honour. They ride swift quadrupedal constructs whose razor-clawed limbs allow them to manoeuvre easily over the most shattered terrain, while their riders are mag-locked in gyro-stabilised positions.

Serberys Raiders are long-range scouts and outriders. They excel at outflanking enemy forces and picking off unprotected assets. Advanced ocular arrays implanted into the riders’ skulls are noospherically linked with their mounts, ensuring maximum accuracy, while finely calibrated olfactory sensors and a suite of sensitive augury equipment make them dogged and feared trackers.

The incandescent flash of phosphor and the stench of charred flesh surround Serberys Sulphurhounds. Appointed from some of the most aggressive Skitarii clades, within their forge world’s temples they patrol lumen-lit enclosures as fell guardians, while on the battlefield, they are shock line breakers. Once released by their Tech-Priest masters they smash into, then through, defensive positions before circling back for any survivors.

Mezoa on wings - Petraxii Reinforcements

One of many specialised castes of cyborg warriors available to the Adeptus Mechanicus, the Pteraxii are optimised for instinctive reaction and agility. Pteraxii’s reflexes are accentuated by paring back elements of cogitation that impede their primary function. Implanted with additional limbstumps – scapuli superior – on their back, a flight pack of thrusters and reactive life surfaces is connected to them. The flight packs become part of the Pteraxii, who serve in several roles.

he Forge Master Omni Gallus has serviced the war forces of Mezoa since before anyone can recall and even searches in to his service to the forge come up short.

This little fella is the oldest model now in my Mezoa force and was kindly donated to me by a local gamer. Named after a little friend of mine this chap was an interesting little fella to paint.

Battlefleet Hermetika - House Hermetika crosses the stars

House Hermetika crosses the stars in style!

Spent a product couple of hours this week working on something different to 28mm and went down to “that’s bloody small” scale.

Decided to put together a House Hermetika themed drop fleet for Battlefleet Gothic.

I don’t play bfg but had some bits floating about and thought what the hell I might as well.

I have a monkeymonks transport ship that I see as being the main drop ship as I think the silos make great drop keeps. I added a couple of the monkeymonks smaller transports as smaller drop/recovery ships and then used original metal cobras as escorts.

Nice and simple to paint, base black, dry brush lead belcher, nuln wash and another dry brush then pick out all the little details and lights. Nothing big or clever but I like the way they tie in with the knights.
