GoPro Joins the Micro Four Thirds System Standard Group
GoPro’s First Interchangeable-Lens Cinema Camera, MISSION 1 PRO ILS, Features a Micro Four Thirds Mount
OM Digital Solutions Corporation and Panasonic Corporation² jointly announced the Micro Four Thirds System standard in 2008 and have since been working to promote the standard.
We are pleased to announce that GoPro, Inc. (headquartered in San Mateo, California, USA; hereinafter “GoPro”) has declared its support for the Micro Four Thirds System standard with the launch of its first interchangeable-lens camera on August 26th, 2026.
GoPro is expanding the ways people capture and share their experiences through immersive imagery with MISSION 1 PRO ILS, a compact cinema camera featuring a Micro Four Thirds mount.
MISSION 1 PRO ILS combines GoPro’s compact and rugged design with the flexibility to select different lenses for different shooting needs. GoPro’s participation is expected to further expand the use of the Micro Four Thirds System in amateur filmmaking, professional video production, and at the highest levels of cinema.
The participation of a diverse range of companies in this open standard will continue to expand the product lineup and create new possibilities for visual expression and image capture.

About MISSION 1 PRO ILS
MISSION 1 PRO ILS is GoPro’s first interchangeable-lens cinema camera. It features a new 50MP 1.0-type sensor and the next-generation GP3 processor, supporting video recording at up to 8K60. Its Open Gate modes use the full image sensor and support recording at up to 8K30 and 4K120.
The compact camera weighs approximately 197g and features a Micro Four Thirds mount. It can be paired with manual-focus Micro Four Thirds lenses for macro, telephoto, wide-angle and other applications. Adapters can also be used to attach vintage lenses, PL-mount cinema lenses and other specialty lenses.
Professional production features include 10-bit color, GP-Log2, HLG HDR video, Timecode Sync, Focus Assist, Focus Peaking and 32-bit float audio.
