Quality Public Education for All

The Global Campaign for Education (GCE) is a global movement of activists, teachers, students, parents, and communities in over 100 countries working to defend everyone’s right to free, quality public education. We unite national education coalitions and advocates to hold governments accountable and ensure inclusive, equitable, and transformative learning for all.

Global Action Week for Education

Global Action Week for Education (GAWE) is GCE’s flagship annual mobilisation, bringing together students, teachers, unions, parents, and activists across the world to demand that every government guarantee free, quality, inclusive public education. Each year, GAWE shines a spotlight on urgent education justice issues and inspires creative national and local actions that push leaders to turn promises into real progress in classrooms and communities.

Through coordinated advocacy, public events, and digital campaigns, GAWE highlights the voices of those most impacted by education inequality and underfunding, calling for stronger education policy, budgets, and accountability. It is a powerful moment for the movement to come together, share stories and strategies, and show that collective action can transform education systems and lives.

Launched in early 2021, the EFO operates through three interrelated processes — data monitoring and tracking, analysis, and advocacy and reporting — providing timely insights to shape policy decisions and drive meaningful change in education financing worldwide.
