a good laugh from Grady

Mom - "Grady, I fixed your motorcycle"

Grady - (smile and giggling)   "How Mom?  How'd you fix it?"

Mom - "With my Awesome Mom skills"

Grady - "No seriously Mom.  How'd you fix it"

Mom - "I just did.  That's how"

Grady - " Mom!!  Just tell me how you fixed it"

Jeff  - "Grady, Mom can fix things just like Grandpa Galen can fix things"

Grady -  (light bulb turning on)  "OH!!!  So you just taped it!"

I Love Memorial Day!

I love the whole weekend actually.
Every year we visit two graves, and leave a little something from the whole family!

We always visit Steve.
The kids LOVE the big pine trees that are just to the west of his headstone.
The babies really enjoyed playing with the windmill that someone left.

Then we head over to visit my Grandma and Grandpa.  As soon as I set the babies down, they climbed right onto the headstone and just stood there reverently.
The other kids enjoy looking at the headstones and figuring out how old people were when they died.

I also got to remind Chester who he was named after.  After visiting  Grandpa Chester, we walked over to Reese Montgomery and told Chester that Reese was Grandpa Chester's brother and that is where we got his middle name.  Chester Rheese
This is a family tradition that I hope will last for a very long time!  It's fun to look at last years memorial day pictures and see how much my kids have grown.

Chicken Coop per Joanna's request!

Well this post is LONG overdue, but I FINALLY, 100% completely finished my Chicken coop!
I built this baby last summer with my Mom (Jeff helped a little too!)  My Dad even came over a few times to get in on the action!

Jeff put the roof on (since he has a knowledge of things like this)
Then over spring break (last week) I decided it was time for Paint.  I had plenty of help.
Here it is with the base coat.

And here it is 100% finished!   I LOVE the way it turned out.

I changed the plans a little to make my door open like this (pictured below)  Which makes it much easier for the kids to collect the eggs!
Front View with window and Run
And here are the Happy Occupants!  Jamal, Poopsie, Chick-fil-a, Godzilla and Nimrod
In a few months we should have three more chickens out there in the mix!

Vivianne vs. the Table

Miss Viv decided to take on my little Red table.  I didn't see it happen, all i heard was a HUGE crash!
I ran upstairs to find her lying on the floor, face up, with the table on her face!  She was SCREAMING!!!

She wouldn't let Jeff take this cold rag off for a good hour.  Every time we tried to take it off to get a good picture, she would cry and scream more.

This is about an hour after it happened.  She had two very large goose eggs on her forehead

This is what she looks like today.
 I think the table won!

Miss H.

For the Past month My little BFF has been complaining about not being able to see things far away.
So as you might suspect, I took her to the Eye Doctor.
Here are the before and after.

She picked them out all by herself.  Actually she picked out 14 pairs all by herself and then the awesome
Office Manager helped her narrow it down to one!
Pink Leopard Print Guess Glasses.

She was very excited all day, she couldn't stop smiling!

Another Weird diagnosis!

A quick warning.....Pictures are as discrete as possible.

This is what I found on my little Gradinator's Leg as I bathed him Sunday morning.

And the more Checking I did, the more I found.

So I called the Dr. first thing Monday morning and took him in.  He also presented with a fever, stomach ache and very lethargic.  Grady said the the rash really hurt and was kind of itchy.  Any guesses???

This is Grady at the third pharmacy we tried, because the first two didn't have the medicine he needed.
Shingles.
My Gradinator has Shingles.

He is one of the "rare" cases where you receive the vaccination, and it actually gives you the Virus.

Awesome.  :-(

Just another ODD sickness that my kids seem to attract.

Hurricane Winds!

You may be wondering why I am posting a picture of my backyard through my fence.
well... do you see that lonely slide that is tipped over in the middle of my yard?

That is how my kids get on and off of our trampoline.
but where is my trampoline you might ask????

Oh there is it!!!!

Tipped over and lodged in my ACROSS THE STREET NEIGHBORS fence.

Mangled and ruined.
We just bought this trampoline in the spring.
we can thank the Hurricane force winds that flew through Davis County today!
