French Chef Jean Imbert is back in the news
And not for a good reason. Chef Jean Imbert is currently involved in a serious legal case in France, facing accusations of domestic violence from several former partners. On August 3, 2026, he was taken into police custody (garde à vue) for twenty-four hours, that got extended for another twenty-four hours as part of the investigation. On August 5, 2026, he has been placed under the status of témoin assisté (assisted witness), meaning he is not formally charged but remains under judicial scrutiny, after being questioned by a judge, which means the judge considers there is evidence requiring further investigation.
