Flood...

When we got back from AZ we learned that our apartment had flooded from a backed up water heater! Our neighbor had noticed that her carpet was wet and so she went outside to get our manager and noticed water rushing out from our apartment.They said that it had flooded about a foot high everywhere. Our manager worked hard and got EVERYTHING out of apartment and moved it into another apartment so all of our belongings could air out because everything got wet! They redid the floors and moved half of our stuff back in. We were so lucky that nothing was ruined, but still it wasn't my first choice to walk into our apartment at 2 in the morning after a 16 hour drive and see everything stacked and scattered everywhere. The next few days we re-moved into our apartment and thought that the worst was behind us. However, a few days later we noticed this growing on our walls...

MOLD!!! On our baseboards in every room in the house. It was gross! And worst of all I was getting sick from it. As soon as I wiped it all down I literally got better in a few hours, thank goodness!They said I had an allergy to it. However, from what I heard the mold probably is still in the sheet rock in the walls so we are still exposed and need to get out. We are meeting with our landlord to find out what we are going to do or move! We hope that he will either move us to another apartment or let us out of our lease so we can get away from the mold. I don't want to move away from our apartment but we will see what happens. I will keep you updated.

First Winter!

I am experiencing my first real winter out here in Wichita! Things I have learned so far about winter are...

1. Snow is pretty...

but icy roads are not worth it snowing!

2. Temperatures below zero actually exist!

3. Gloves are a necessity(I still do not have any! I have been using socks on my hands. Not working too well!)

4. 40-50 degree weather is beautiful and very much appreciated. You only need a light jacket!

5. I never truly knew what wind was til I moved here! And the wind makes 15 degree weather(like today) feel like temperatures that are just way too ridiculously cold!

6. That the feeling of being out of control on the icy roads becomes a normal everyday feeling! (Weird)

7. You actually need to own a ice scrapper to scrap and inch thick of ice off of your car every morning to even enter it! And possibly even a keyhole warmer to unfreeze your locks! who knew!

8. Everything freezes if left in your car! Even lip gloss!

9. Slipping and falling is still embarrasing even if everywhere you step is ice...


and last but not least...

10. I am not made to live in cold weather! Take me back to Arizona!

Jessica's Christmas Tree!

She'll finish decorating tomorrow (Monday) when Graham get's home from his tournament.

Which will be - snow sprayed on the window w/lights around it.

Jessica wants you to know the reason she hasn't posted is because their computer is broken.
She is alive and kicking in Kansas. She has sent Jen some pictures via her cell phone to post. When we receive them we will post them.

Jessica's update:
She took a Board Test last Wednesday and she passed. She'll start working out on the floor at Eric Fisher starting on Wednesday. She's a little nervous about that - she'll do great.

1. She got her hair cut - because that's what they do at her school .
2. She decorated a Christmas tree that a friend gave her. She loves it.

Waxing Week

So this week in school was waxing week! We all had to grow all of our hair out for 3 weeks! EW! And this week we began to wax one another! We all have to wax everyhting and get waxed by the other students everywhere! Sometimes it's not so fun because we can tend to make a lot of painful mistakes when we are learning! I am not going to lie I thought I might end up coming out of class with an eyebrow missing or something, but luckily everyone caught on pretty easy!We started out on eyebrows...

so they actually didn't look like this but you get the idea. We also tinted eyebrows and eyelashes which i completely loved and would recommend...
Then we did nose waxing , yes I said nose waxing! Who knew! I am not sure of who this guy is (or any of these people are because I did not bring my camera to school),but I think you get the idea( I have to expereince this next week on myself, but I did wax a girls nose today!)...
We then went to arm, leg, bikini, and underarms... I got my legs done today! Let's just say it's not a painless procedure, but you for sure have smooth legs after and just like the picture I couldln't stop rubbing them all day! Goodbye razor hello long lasting smooth legs!
Overall waxing week was really fun, painful, and interesting all in one! I am just glad that we go into body treatments instead next week! It sounds a lot more realxing and a lot less painful!

My First Fall!

I love the fall here in Wichita so I decided to take some pictures of it on my run the other day! These are from my phone so they are not that great and do not give the gorgeous trees justice! And this first one is obviously from my car but the rest are from my run! I really like the red trees the best!
And these are the random animals I saw while I was running! I love these squirrels! They are everywhere! It's so cute they just stand and stare you down as you walk by! Graham says one even stood right in the middle of the side walk and would'nt let him pass! And that turtle is just really random and was just chillin in the pond on the golf course!
