Future of Energy Skills workshop supported by the European Commission Clean Energy Ministerial at the International Energy Agency (IEA) in Paris, March 17-18 2026
On behalf of the World Wind Energy Association, Sahara Wind presented recent regional expansions of wind industry value chains. These are likely to benefit from the World Wind Energy Academy aimed at leveraging China's industrial and technological strengths with a global perspective. Through roundtables encouraging dialogue, peer learning, and people-centered approaches, experts from around the world governments, industry, trade unions, education, research institutions, and international organizations explored the future of policies on employment and skills essential for scaling-up the energy transition. With skills in high demand, aligning academic curricula, applied research and policy with vocational education to serve industry needs can drive a systemic change.

Energy, Minerals & Strategic Corridors in a Fragmented World and Africa & the Global South: From Narrative Power to Economic Leverage high level panels moderated by Sahara Wind at the Global Growth Conference – GGC 2026. This event brought more than 100 distinguished speakers and 1,600 participants from over 50 countries to discuss Africa and the Global South’s future growth. The conference addressed some of the most pressing issues of our time: sovereign growth, investment platforms, economic resilience, infrastructure, digital transformation, energy and resources, strategic corridors, productive value chains and the role of Morocco as a trusted hub of growth and influence. Reaffirming its role as a catalyst for concrete action, the GGC 2026 brought together public decision-makers, institutional leaders, investors, financial institutions, private sector actors and international experts around a shared ambition: to structure sustainable, inclusive and sovereign growth trajectories for Africa and beyond.
