Random Inspiration

Here's another close-my-eyes-click-on-a-picture post. This is a picture of my oldest 2 children when they were teenie. This was taken at Knoebels when Sadie was just a few weeks old. Thea couldn't even see over the wheel, but they both were having a blast.
It's true people.
It does go by so fast.
As hard as those baby/toddler years are, and you are convinced it will never get easier and you can't take another day of the madness, time has a way of slipping through your grasp.
I came into the kitchen this morning to find Thea's cereal already poured with milk and all thanks to her big 6 year old brother. When I asked him what he wanted for breakfast he proclaimed, "I already finished."
I am really having a hard time coming to terms with Thea going into Kindergarten in the Fall. Before I know it, I will be waving goodbye to her from the bus stop.
Incidentally, my first thought when this picture popped up was "in the blink of an eye, Sammy is going to be driving with Thea tagging along."
But fear not, I am pretty certain Sadie will always be by my side. She will always be my little stinker. She will never grow up.
Right?
Isn't that how it works with the baby?

I am supposed to be reading this. I just can't bring myself to read it. I have seen the move 9 gazillion times so the book is just not appealing. First book club book that I am not reading. It works out OK anyway since I won't be at our meeting this Sunday. First meeting I am missing too!!

A March Poem and My Thoughts

I hate March.

I do.

Is it winter?

Is it Spring?

Well, yes.

But not really.

The problem is I want it to be fully Spring and it just ain't.
I am cold in my bones today because psychologically I think it is Spring but it ain't.
It will officially be Spring in 5 days but not really. The days will be called Spring but the weather will be a spychotic, schizophrenic, unpredictable MESS!!!!
A HOT MESS.
And I HATE it!!

On a happier note, I bought all the fixins for me St. Paddy's Day feast. I am drooling and won't stop until about 8pm on the Thursday. I decided, this year I'm goin all kinds a crazy and buyin the kids some Lucky Charms to enjoy for breakfast that day.

Random Inspiration

So I haven't been feeling very inspired lately but as I was just looking back over older post, I am so thankful for the memories that I have recorded. I wish I were more consistent in blogging.

So I had an idea.

I would open my photo folder and click on a photo with my eyes closed and whichever photo popped up would be my inspiration for this post.

This is my little sister Jenny, well, she is Mike's little sister so.......

I met her when she was just a teenager. It was love at first sight for me. I think I blogged about how I always asked for a little sister or brother for every birthday/Christmas. Well my parents never granted that request but thankfully God did through marriage.

We've been through a lot together and I miss her so much.

We survived a very bad haircut experience together.

We have shared too many cookies with milk to mention.

We have danced in celebration and cried in mourning together.

We have laughed together to the point of tears and we have cried together to the point of laughter.

We have loved and we have fought hard together and that is what makes our relationship so sweet.

We used to talk all the time but now a few of life's blessings have gotten in the way of that. She has 2 little girls (whom I adore) AND a full time job, so her time is limited. I hope one day we will live near enough to each other that we can have regular movie/pizza nights and the kids can play with each other after church. sigh!!

I love this beautiful girl and her incredible lil family. I love when one of my kids moves or talks or laughs in such a way that is so much like her. And this happens more often than you might think. Sammy has this snorty laugh that is sooooo Jenny. And Thea has many of her mannerisms.

I love her honesty and vulnerability. I love her radiant beauty. I love her sense of humor and her sensitive, compassionate heart.

I just love HER!!!

The funny thing about this post is that she will likely never read it. She never checks my blog.
