Purpose of use in article (WP:NFCC#8) To support encyclopedic discussion of this work in this article. The illustration is specifically needed to support the following point(s):

This image serves as the primary visual identification of the Nebraska state quarter, per Wikipedia:Non-free content#Images that allows for "Stamps and currency: For identification of the stamp or currency, not the subjects depicted on it" and Wikipedia:Non-free content#Meeting_the_contextual_significance_criterion that says, "for identification of specific coins and currency, images of the front and back are normally used"

    Not replaceable with
free media because (WP:NFCC#1) Any derivative work based upon the artwork would be a copyright violation, so creation of a free image is not possible.
Minimal use (WP:NFCC#3) Image is low resolution. Coin will be used in a single article to illustrate its subject in accordance with NFCI
    Respect for
commercial opportunities (WP:NFCC#2) The use of a low resolution image of the artwork will not impact the commercial viability of the art.

    • used for the purposes of commentary or criticism relating to the image of the currency itself
    • where no free equivalent is available or could be created that would adequately give the same information,
    • on the English-language Wikipedia, hosted on servers in the United States by the non-profit Wikimedia Foundation,

qualifies as fair use under the copyright law of the United States. Any other uses of this image, on Wikipedia or elsewhere, may be copyright infringement. See Wikipedia:Non-free content for more information.

Do not use this tag if the currency and image in question are known to be either public domain or freely licensed.

If the currency design shown is in fact public domain, please replace this tag with {{PD currency}}, if appropriate, and an appropriate copyright tag.
