[Feature request] Official support for 8bitdo Ultimate 2 controller?
Not sure what the right place for this is but I was wondering if official support for the DirectInput mode of the 8bitdo Ultimate 2 controller was something I could request.

The controller's extra buttons and gyro appear in Steam Input when the controller is set to DirectInput. It works great when the controller is plugged directly into a PC (the icons even switch to the controller-specific ones), unfortunately the same can't be said when using the controller through Steam Link.

After connecting to the host Pc Steam Input loses access to gyro and the extra buttons. This can be bypassed by using VirtualHere, but using it means I can't use the Controller Overlay anymore :(

As far as I understand it this is something only Valve can fix since the app is closed source.

DirectInput mode:
With the controller on, hold B and the Home button. The controller will turn off after 4 seconds. Continue holding B, and turn the controller back on. You should now be in DirectInput mode.

To switch back to XInput mode, essentially do the same thing with the X button

XInput Mode:
With the controller on, hold X and the Home button. The controller will turn off after 4 seconds. Continue holding X, and turn the controller back on. You should now be back in Xinput mode.

Try using XInput Mode.

This doesn’t work through Steam Link unless you use virtual here, as stated in the OP.
