Use VPN with Kodi for steam link?
Hey everyone.
Have been playing around with my steam link for a few days now. And i watched some youtube videos about Kodi.

Is it possible to use a VPN on the kodi for steam link version? I'm also a bit confused, all these guides i have watched says i need OpenELEC, but is that really supported on the steam link?

Sorry if some of the questions are dumb, i'm a noob so please be nice! :P

Yes, its 'possible', but you will have to crosscompile openvpn package manually or use debian repo to use their binaries and dependencies and manually set it up via ssh which is less than trivial. Performance is gonna blow too I am afraid.

how to ssh into steamlink:

openvpn:
https://packages.debian.org/sid/armhf/openvpn/download

package has quite a few dependencies that might be required to be downloaded and copied into steamlink via ssh as well.

If you have no idea what any of this means then you probably just need to forget it.

Honestly I'd look into putting a VPN on your router. Then anything connected to it will be using it.

Its pretty easy - here's an example of how to do it if you've got DD-WRT on your router (free linux based router firmware) https://www.privateinternetaccess.com/pages/client-support/dd-wrt-openvpn .
