Steam Link

Steam Link

Standalone DOSBOX
Built DOSBOX SDL for Steam Link hardware.

Seems to work well.
Do the standard install with a USB and the steamlink/apps folder.
type "mount c programs"
FTP any programs you want to the programs folder (you'll have to restart DOSBOX or remount if you make changes to the folder while it's running)

All I tested with it so far was Alien Carnage shareware (no games included) with PC audio and a keyboard and mouse plugged in. Feel free to experiment and report any issues.

Might be fun to get windows 3.1 running and see what happens.

Edit: Soundblaster and mouse worked fine with the Monkey Island Demo.

There's a config file on the Steam Link at /home/apps/dosbox/.home/.dosbox
I recommend adding at the bottom the following:
[autoexec]
mount c programs

This is great! I'll follow to see what users can achieve with this feature.
thx

Any idea how to set it full screen? Setting that option in config is resulting in black screen.
Good job Garbalen, fantastic!!
I don't remember anymore but maybe it was a F key or alt enter or something. I remember it having goofy aspect ratio when I was messing with it a while back. If anyone has had better luck with changing stuff, maybe they can help you. I won't have the steamlink hooked back up for a couple weeks yet and need to get a new usb stick as I've fried my last one.
Finally circling back around to this. I've updated the install file to a newer version and fullscreen should work out of the box. If you want to keep your current install just change the config file somewhere down in the dosbox/.home folder to fullscreen and change the screen from original to desktop. Should be the top 4 lines.

fullscreen=true
fulldouble=false
fullresolution=desktop
windowresolution=desktop
Hey I know this post is a bit old but Just had a quick question with this:
Rather than install a ton of stuff to the steamlink itself, is there any way I could mount a folder from a USB drive to store programs and games?

Not sure if this applies to DOSBOX, never used myself, but here's how you mount and unmount a usb key: https://github.com/clach04/steamlink-usbmounttoggle

My issue seems to be on the side of navigating dosbox?
I seem to only be able to access/mount folders within the folder i have dosbox installed,
with that program, would i be able to have dosbox just installed and run from the usb?
because if i cant access folders outside of dosbox itself, it would still be a solution to the problem

i have a version of USB mount installed, i tried installing the one you linked here but it doesnt seem to let me?
maybe i need to uninstall the one i already have

EDIT: i was being dumb

for anyone else trying to do something similar
launch the usb mount program, then launch dosbox, then mount something as /mnt/disk to see whats on ur usb
