Steam Link

Youtube App?
Hey I just orderd my Steam Link and wonderd if it is possible to make a native app that just opens up http://www.youtube.com/tv so it would be like the good old YouTube App for TVs and you could use your smartphone in the same network or via pairing to remote controll it.

So all we need would be a native app that opens the page.

I'm not a code guy so that's why I hope to find help over here!

Even better would be the steam big picture browser as native app!
Kodi has a youtube add-on that works really well
The navigation is rather terrible and it dosn't support Full HD and 60 FPS Video + you can't controll it via your phone (App)
I agree but the addon works well enough
Maybe someone can compile one but for now kodi is the way to go.

You can do 1080p/60FPS in Kodi/YouTube addon but you need a small separate addon compiled for the machine. https://github.com/peak3d/inputstream.adaptive

And then you enable DASH in the YouTube addon settings which will then prompt you to setup the inputstream.adaptive plugin. Not sure if this could be made to work on the Link or not.
I was thinking building for the Steam Link a lightweight web browser like surf, because I use it on my PocketCHIP, which is a less powerful ARM device than the Steam Link, but it seems like surf is not compatible with youtube.com/tv (at least on PocketCHIP using surf. It works with firefox tho).
So I thought about Electron js or Node Webkit js. After some digging on the official NW.js I found a dude who made a build for Raspberry Pi, it's there: https://github.com/jalbam/nwjs_rpi

I have to add: I ABSOLUTELY do not know how to use nw.js nor Steam Link SDK.
But it might be a good start to do web apps on the Steam Link.

EDIT: if you know any web browser like Surf with no/minimum interface, go ahead and tell me, I've searched some but I haven't found anything yet.
