Steam Link

Plex
Hi, anyone tried to build Plex for Link? Maybe with OpenPHT? Or would the Kodi build work with a Plex server?

OpenPHT is behind with versioning but runs great still. Rasplex heads up that now. PlexMediaPlayer would be very unlikely, as it heavily relies on Qt5 elements. I should give it a shot.
@ProfessorKaos64 I agree, you should! ;-) And let me know if you're succesfull! Surely if it runs on Pi, it should run on Link?
It depends, since you are using an SDK, not utilizing the backbone of Debian, such as Rasplex/Debian. If Kodi is doable, I think it should be. I'll try it this week.

There are 2 plugins available that make Kodi work with Plex. Plexkodiconnect which is the most native like solution since it replaces the Kodi db with Plex, but it's also fairly resource intensive, maybe too much for the link. Thes also plexbmc which uses a more traditional video plugin to access your Plex server.
That would be great if there would a PLEX APP for SL.

Agreed
@ProfessorKaos64 I don't know how many others would be willing/interested/able, but if you're serious about creating a native steamlink app for plex app, I would contribute to a gofundme (or whatever donations would work)
I think it would take more effort than realized. I should give it a go just been busy. My bandwidth exceeded a few days ago so I must wait until Dec 1 to try some things. I'm not a developer, just handy with Linux. I'll take a stab at it.
I've begun to take a harder look at this, with some help from the OpenPHT dev:

This looks super promising - thanks! I'll take a look and see if there's anything that I might be able to help with too..
Plex Media Player could also work? It can be ported to other platforms? https://forums.plex.tv/discussion/188192/plex-media-player-open-source-contributions-and-building-faq#latest

EDIT: PMP is also on kodi apparently.

PMP is not on Kodi. There is a new Kodi add-on for Plex pass members but it is not the same thing as pmp. PMP is a whole other animal that uses its own player backend (Mpv I think) where as the new Kodi add-on uses the Kodi player backend like any other addon
Anyone ever got PlexMediaPlayer working?
Just ordered a Steam Link, would be awesome if it works....
@norman, over in the Steamlink SDK thread, it mentions Qt 5.4 support. Qt 5.7.1 is required for PMP, https://github.com/plexinc/plex-media-player

That needs to be solved first. I am also very interested... I have a spare SteamLink I would like to be a plex client, just for music.
