HEVC Video is unavailable on Intel HD Graphics 520 as client
Client is Kubuntu 20.04 LTS, Intel Core i5-6200U and Intel HD Graphics 520. The Hardware Decoding option is available and enabled, but HEVC video is disabled as "not available"

I can use HEVC Video on my phone when streaming from the same host, so I know the host is capable

vainfo lists VAProfileHEVCMain as available, so I know the GPU is capable of HEVC decoding

Is there something I can try?

My understanding is that HEVC just isn't supported on PC clients yet.

I would be interested to know if there are any updates or plans to get it working eventually. It sucks that I get much better picture quality on my tiny phone screen than on my TV. I also suffer from smearing and blockiness in busy scenes that my phone doesn't get at all.
