@slouken, any UI update soon?
I would like to report a bug.
Device info:

Amazon Fire 7 12th Gen tablet
Fire OS 8

Bug description:
Steam Link fails to maintain immersive/fullscreen mode during active streaming. The Fire OS navigation bar appears on every tap during a stream session, interrupting gameplay. This does not happen on the Steam Link homepage, only during active streaming. It also does not happen in any other app on the device.
I don't know if it's just me, but on this version, there is no sound on my Android device, despite the Steam Speaker being selected and not muted. I only got the sound once and it seems to have been by chance because all the other times, there was nothing coming out.

Edit: for those who have the same issue: I could fix it by turning off "low latency audio" in the settings, then there is sound, and it remains after you turn it back on. Sadly the fix doesn't remain and the procedure has to be done every time you want to play but at least it works after that.

So it really appears to be a bug after all. Could you please fix this in the next version?
Ever since the new update on my android, I cannot play games. Once I connect to my PC, every time I tap anywhere, the pull down for my status bar at the top and menu buttons from my android OS keeps flashing every time I tap. I do not know if this is in relation to the new aspect ratio fix that was implemented. I have reinstalled and re paired to my desktop but with no fix. Downgrading the app to an older version 1.3.23 resolves the issue. I am on Android 11.

any estimate for rollback the 'Forcing Client Side Aspect Ratio' code issues?
since those code changes few versions back, almost every android devices can't start with proper resolutions.

it keep auto picking insane resolution from the lists, all the android devices are all different and also non 16:9 aspect ratio so, you have to always change setting from host steam client side setting menu every time when you access from different android devices.

it pick the wrong resolution base on client's physical/logical aspect ratio, so either even if you using single client device, you have to manually change it from steam client side to 'forcing certain resolution then reconnect it' cause change it during streaming mostly cause issues in many device's decoder compatibility issue.
(some devices are even physically crash like Chromecast with Google TV dongle and TV Box products)

i'd report this issue several times in several different posts but seems nothing reported or recorgnized from departs various months?

was perfect few months ago but it's quite a regression now.

some modern streaming solutions adopt some virtual display to deliver same aspect ratio on multiful client side in no issues, but steam doesn't need those fancy tech at least for now.

few months ago were just perfect.
only issue is you need to turn virtual touch controller everytime for access detail graph on/off button but those are really minor issue.

Could you give a little more detail? What Android devices, what is the host (PC, Mac, Linux), what version of Steam are you running, what are the settings, etc.

The reason I ask is that I just tried connecting to a bunch of different machines (Ubuntu Linux, SteamOS on a Steam Machine, SteamOS on a Steam Deck, and Windows 11 on an ASUS ROG Zephyrus G16) from several different Android devices, and it worked as I'd expect in all cases. So I suspect there may be something different between our setups.

when host is (same as 99.9% in market) 16:9 standard wide and client mobile devices are (same as 99.9% in market) non 16:9 aspect ratio, steam link was follow host side aspect ratio.
as example, streaming 16:9 host screen in 16:10 android tablet with blackbar.
but since code changed few months ago, now steam link application from client side push wrong prioriety call the host steam, that auto picking 1680x1050 like 'not match with client screen' kind totally non-sense resolution from list.
it picking base on 'aspect ratio prioriety' even in it's non-sense one from lists.
and even if you try manually setting from host side setting menu, other client device has different aspect ratio will be issue again in same way.
nothing issue like this before unless you are using really minor aspect ratio from host display side, but now most of client device except TV has issue on it.

you can check more details on my previous 'forum posts'
I'm afraid I'm still not following entirely.

You say "steam link was follow host side aspect ratio. as example, streaming 16:9 host screen in 16:10 android table with black bar."

This is the behavior I'm seeing right now; if I use a Samsung Galaxy S21 phone (20:9 aspect ratio) and stream from a PC with a 4k monitor (16:9 aspect ratio), I get a stream on the phone that has black bars to either side, like in this image[i.imgur.com].

In this case I was streaming from a Linux box, but I see the same behavior when streaming from Windows to the phone.

Is this the behavior you *don't* want -- e.g., you want the host to match the client's resolution exactly -- or is this the behavior you *do* want, and for some reason it's not what you're seeing?

Part of the reason I asked what the host system was -- Linux, Windows, etc. -- is that how things are handled is OS-specific. Linux cannot change the desktop resolution, so all changes are handled at the capture level. Windows *can* change the desktop resolution, but only to something that the monitor supports, *unless* you're using the SudoVDA virtual display driver (which can match anything the client has).

as example in very old steam link client days, you need dummy dongle to make virtual display in physical form to steam handle one more layer to utilize your targeting resolution value before your client and host match specific condition cause there's no specific configulation or option to user designate it.
cause when display physically offed, then everything stopped, and if it's physically on, then burn the screen front of no one not just drain electricity.
also steam link was those days are mostly depends and rely on others codes and external api.

but nowdays steam provide 'maximum value' in custom form(still got bug in here either but not a big deal) and steam link itself provide simplified best way to pick proper one
there's no more '16:9 game render in 16:10 host display in 16:9 output streaming resolution in 16:10 client display' like insane fractal error like issues.
(before changes few month ago)

as example in physical 16:10 display client device, even if you pick the 1920x1080 maximum value, current steam link for android picking 1440x900 like resolution from host display/host dummy dongle's resolution lists and send those request to host steam client to encode stream in 16:10 prioriety even that user doesn't want to streaming in 16:10.
no option or detail 'prioriety policy' on aspect ratio, just maximum resolution, not specific resolution, so steam client app decide 'i should call the 1680x1050, 1440x900 like resolution' and there's no way to stop this from user side.
(just like apple and google forcing something one policy way to customers in bad way)

when dev provide workaround as 'just set those from host steam side setting to forcing specific resolution', that makes other trouble in other client device.
as you knew, all the mobile device screen and resolutions are insane rocky horror picture show variety state.
when consider Galaxy S like ones as 'facto de standardo' aspect ratio pannel, they support 1560x720/2340x1080/3120x1440 like insane ratio that already you said.

i'm saying only in 'Majority' cases, but even if you consider 'Minority' case like using UltraWide and UltraUltraLongWide monitor as steam gaming pc set up guys, then this issue might be much trouble some in chaotic.

simplest solutions are always best, and before dev consider those chaotic situations and code changes, i think just rollback those aspect ratio call from android client specific codes to few month ago might be best way on current situation.
