Just install it from the repo' as normal? If it doesn't install with apt, just add the stretch repo and install it?
I cant get this to work on a pi 4, but i just get this error
Package libicu57 is not available, but is referred to by another package.
This may mean that the package is missing, has been obsoleted, or
is only available from another source

Raspberry Pi 4 ships with Raspbian Buster, based on the soon to launch Debian 10 operating system. It might no longer have that particular version of International Components for Unicode library. I assume Steam Link uses ICU in order to support Unicode character sets in its startup UI.
I have a pie 3 and had the same problem today!
I just downloaded the package from https://packages.debian.org/stretch/armhf/libicu57/download and installed it manually from the desktop. Seems to work so far...
Yeah, that doesn't work for me on the Pi 4.
It gets rid of the libicu57 error but still fails to run.
EGL Error : Could not create the egl surface: error = 0x300b

This works.
But actual streaming? LOL no...

Hopefully more support soon. Want to test my Pi4 out :p
Maybe it's enough to get a Qt5 compiled for the Pi 4, to replace the one that's included in the steamlink.
Unfortunately I've never done such a thing before.
https://www.tal.org/tutorials/building-qt-512-raspberry-pi seems like a good starting point.
I've managed to get this "sort of" working on the pi 4. I had to specify a resolution (1080 or 4k), or else the app would crash on the PC being streamed from. That was fine, I got "big picture" loading on the Pi, but the minute I tried running a game, I got the same screen garbage that "Dank Memes" got in his linked picture.

TL;DR, using Xenophobe's link does allow raspbian to get steamlink to load and big picture UI works fine. Game video is garbage though. Might have something to do with the hardware, as someone else said previously.
Moonlight (https://moonlight-stream.org/) does work on the pi 4.
Has anyone gotten steam link working on pi 4 with buster?
1.1.36 is working ok for me now.
edit: I talked too soon, after just 2 minutes it crashed out, after restarting the pi4, steamlink no longer works.
Rolling back to pi3 gets steamlink to work again. For some reason now It does not even open the gui on pi4.
