Is it possible to make an option to downgrade to an older version easily in steamlink? Controllers works again. But I still have a problem in RetroPie:

The easiest solution for me and maybe for others would be to downgrade to the last working version (1.1.46 in my case).

Thank you for all your effort.
I agree with Swampy. My controller was still not working so I tried advice in other threads. Now I cannot even start steamlink. I tried re-installing but it didn't work.
Is it possible to create a list with all previous version numbers and their links? You can stick it and update it as required.
My wired x-box controllers are still not working with this build.

Thanks for all of your efforts slouken.

From a terminal window, run: sudo usermod -a -G input,plugdev $(id -un)
I got my controller and steamlink working with the new version :)

Had to manually delete steamlink folders and then reinstall (probably to fix some stuff I caused).

Then I ran steamlink through command line. It updated, and after restarting works fine.

Sure!

I'm not putting links because the intent is for people to run the latest version, but the full version number is there for someone who really needs to go back to a previous version.
My wired original x-box 360 controller works again with this version. But I have the feeling that if the controller sends too much information to the host, it stutters very much (sometimes several seconds). I don't know if it is a problem with steamlink or with retropie. I have downgraded to version 1.1.45.105 and there are no problems. Also with this previous version the controller still works after exiting steamlink in retropie.

I am using the xpad-driver within retropie and my host is a Ubuntu 18.04.

If I have time I will test it within a clean raspbian.

I want to confirm I have the same issue when exiting steamlink into retropie, one of two of my controllers stops working.

The latest build (1.1.50) should take care of this, can you confirm?
It's working again with retropie, thank you.
Great, thanks!

Works now after the 1.1.50 update
