Steam Link

Steam Link version 1.1.58
Steam Link for Raspberry Pi has been updated with the following changes:
  • Added a controller overlay with mouse mode, on-screen keyboard functionality and more!
  • The Start/Back/Guide buttons have their normal functionality now, the overlay is brought up with a long button press
  • Added loading screen tips for useful functionality, including which button opens the overlay
  • Added the option to record/playback input from the controller overlay when on the Windows login screen

Note that the Windows login screen functionality requires the current Steam beta client, dated March 6th or newer.

Not currently, no.
It seems this build broke my 8BitDo SN30 Pro+ configuration (quite like what F4BN1NJ4 reported in the build 758 thread): it completely shuffled the layout, and when I try to remap the controller, several buttons simply do not respond (more specifically: Y, right shoulder, and both stick buttons). I am using the SN30 Pro+ as an XBox One controller; firmware is up-to-date (version 3.02).
Same here, except I’m using an actual Xbox one controller. evtest (on the computer running steam) is reporting button Y as BTN_NORTH (it’s usually BTN_WEST). BTN_WEST is showing up when I push LB. RB reports nothing. X reports nothing (typically BTN_NORTH). Start and select (or whatever they are called here) are reporting thumb buttons L and R, while the actual thumb buttons report nothing. A and B are ok, and so are the triggers, analog sticks, and the dpad. I should also note evtest results taken at the same time on the pi are accurate to button presses. Turning off the controller overlay on the steam link in settings doesn’t change anything.

This is fixed in build 1.1.59, thanks!

Hey, I just want to tell you thanks for all you do! I love my Steam Link, and I also use the RPi on another TV in my house, and the streaming is just awesome!

You're welcome! Glad to hear it. :)
Added a controller overlay with mouse mode, on-screen keyboard functionality and more!
This overlay is the bar on the bottom of the screen when I long-press the select button, right? (I'm using a Steam Controller.) Unfortunately, one of my games used a long-press on the select button for a common function, and now Steam Link seems to intercept it and not transmit it to Steam on the PC. I've rebound another input to the select function, but had to remove its current binding to do so. Is there a way to reconfigure or disable this overlay? I don't anticipate using it.

Yep, you can change or disable it in the advanced streaming settings. What game are you running that needs a long press of that button?

Tracks - The Train Set Game.

Thanks for the tip, I'll go look for that now.
