Steam Link

Steam Link

steamlink on a rock64pro ?
Good morning Gentlemen and Gentlewoman,

I was wondering if a support for rock64 / ~pro would be possible. I c an install and run the program but it says : You need at least a Rasp 3 to run it.
I am using this platform as my daily driver - so it would really be nice to have steamlink running on it :)

I don't know if this will get you much further than that error as I don't have a rock64 but it's possible to comment out the part that checks for an raspberry Pi.

Find the directory /home/pi/.local/share/SteamLink . On a pi this is the directory, should be somewhere under home on the rock64. Note the .share is a hidden directory. In that directory should be steamlink.sh, open that with a txt editor. You'll find a block that says the following below:

# Check to make sure the hardware is capable of streaming at 1080p60
# Model code information from:
# https://www.raspberrypi.org/documentation/hardware/raspberrypi/revision-codes/README.md
if [ ! -f "$TOP/.ignore_cpuinfo" ]; then
revision=$(cat /proc/cpuinfo | fgrep "Revision" | sed 's/.*: //')
revision=$((16#$revision))
processor=$(($(($revision >> 12)) & 0xf)) # 0: BCM2835, 1: BCM2836, 2: BCM2837, 3:
if [ $processor -lt 2 ]; then
show_message --error $"You need to run on a Raspberry Pi 3 or newer - aborting."
exit 1
fi
fi

Comment it all out using # so that it looks like this :

# Check to make sure the hardware is capable of streaming at 1080p60
# Model code information from:
# https://www.raspberrypi.org/documentation/hardware/raspberrypi/revision-codes/README.md
#if [ ! -f "$TOP/.ignore_cpuinfo" ]; then
# revision=$(cat /proc/cpuinfo | fgrep "Revision" | sed 's/.*: //')
# revision=$((16#$revision))
# processor=$(($(($revision >> 12)) & 0xf)) # 0: BCM2835, 1: BCM2836, 2: BCM2837, 3:
# if [ $processor -lt 2 ]; then
# show_message --error $"You need to run on a Raspberry Pi 3 or newer - aborting."
# exit 1
# fi
#fi

Then try and run steamlink as normal, I have no idea if this will let it get far enough to actually run steamlink on the rockPro but will get you past that check. Worth a try.

Thanks, it really works. I tried this on nanopc-t4, is the same platform as rock64 and RPi4. But other issue appeared - when I try to launch steamlink it print
error: when loading shared libraries: libbcm_host.so
I downloaded this library and placed into dir
.local/share/SteamLink/lib
but it is not helps to resolve issue. Can somebody share info about this issue?
