Annoying black status bar in middle of the screen
So I've been streaming from my PC to a Raspberry Pi 3b for a while now. Everything's been ok so far until this morning when upon startup the Pi did a Steamlink update. Now I have an annoying little black status bar in the middle of the screen informing me what is being streamed at any given moment. It's there on games, or when streaming desktop to watch Youtube videos etc. Is there a setting to turn this little bar off? Is this a bug or fault or is it god forbid, working as intended?

After updating steam and restarting my (raspberry pi) steam link a little while ago, I'm seeing the same thing. Mentioned it here:

No, that's definitely not where it's supposed to be.
Exact same thing here after I restarted my pi. Tried the same stuff you did and went through available settings to make sure overlays were off. Nada. Absolutely driving me crazy.
This is fixed, thanks!
Similar issue with the update today. There is a UI element like 3/4s down on the left side of the screen that says 'Hold ESC key to control remote session / Try it now!'

Can't make it go away and it just sticks there over top of whatever you're doing. Not sure what's going on but makes it impossible to use streaming enjoyably.

Have you tried holding the escape key?

LOL. Yes...nothing happens.
What kind of keyboard input setup do you have? Does this still happen in 1.1.78?
OK , we are getting this message appear in Table Top Simulator: "Hold ESC to control remote session". My group's GM uses his Mac to remote connect to my Windows Host PC (his Mac is not powerful enough to Host our RPG session so my Main PC hosts whilst I use another PC)
This stupid message splashes right across the chat window in the lower left corner and NO, holding ESC does NOT get rid of the message (ESC in TTS brings up the menu whether you press and release or press and hold). Whoever thought it was a great idea to add this message, think again and remove it please!
I have steam link hardware, and I get this now if I push any buttons on my connected harmony remote. Haven't found a way to get rid of it short of disconnecting and reconnecting.

Ah, the harmony remote actually does have a keyboard, right? What happens if you hold the ESC key?

I dont have one with a hard keyboard, I'll have to program it in, but I'll let you know.

I am able to take control.

If I "Stop Streaming", I get dropped to the steam link menu.
If I "Stop Game", (in game) the game exits. (Out of game) nothing happens, but I never get the "Press ESC to take control" prompt again for that steam link session.

So that is a solution, but not a very good one.
