Steam link stops reading inputs after a few minutes
I’ve been using link for years now and this problem has only started yesterday. Streaming my computer to my iPhone 11 and using a PS4 controllers on the iPhone has been working for hundreds upon thousands of hours. But now it stops reading inputs after a few minutes. Could be anywhere between 2-30 minutes. The controller isn’t disconnecting or turning off, it’s just not reading new inputs. It works again after closing and reopening the stream but then the problem just starts over again. Like Sisyphus pushing a boulder up a hill. I’ve done nothing different and haven’t changed any settings recently. How can I fix this

I'll try to reproduce this, what game are you playing?
I'm having the exact same issue. Tested it on multiple games (Skyrim and Lego: Lord of the Rings) and multiple device (Apple TV 4k and Current Gen Ipad Air)
I’ve encountered a similar on both tvOS and iPadOS - not with such regularity, but every so often inputs start being ignored for 30-60s, and unfortunately I’m without a reproducible course of action. Most recently with BG3. Affects all connected controllers.
Likewise streaming to AppleTV - happens in the Witcher 3 and Starfield so far. The controller is still usable but only to disconnect it and then reconnect, but otherwise stops reading inputs in-game every 2-3 mins. Only happened since the last Steam app update.
I have the exact same problem. I’m using a MFi controller, not a console one. But after 30 minutes or so the app just stops accepting inputs and there’s nothing I can do.

By contrast I can play native iOS games or remote play PS4 games for ages without issue.

Seems to be an issue with the Steam Link app but I’ve got no clue how to debug it.
Same here, happening in Starfield. Doesn't actually disconnect or pause the game, so in the time it takes to disconnect and then reconnect the controller you can die or lose progress. Games are sort of unplayable right now because of it. PS4 controller.
I've been able to reproduce this, and it's fixed for the next update.

Thanks!

Good to hear! I’ll be watching the release notes in the next release. 😊
This should be fixed in version 1.3.4
Awesome!
