Love the constant updates from the devs on the app, so thanks for the continued support.

Since one of the November updates (unsure which), there‘a an issue with big picture not identifying the steam controller as a controller, and instead reverting to touch controls. Other users have noted this on further discussions below:

Controller seems to work fine through the dongle using the app on a TV, but Bluetooth seems to be problematic on mobile.

Hope something can be done!
I've noticed that in the latest version of steam link for Apple TV (1.2.0.240 running on tvOS 16.1) it seems the select/share button (left of the home button) on all controllers is not registering with any game. It does bring up the steam over lay when holding down, but doesn't trigger the appropriate in game action either with extended configuration support enabled or not. I've tried with the following controllers on multiple Apple Tv (HD, 4K, and the 4k 2022 model)

Play station Dual Shock 4
Play station Dual sense
Nimbus+
8Bit Duo pro 2 (using profiles for Xbox, Apple/Playstation, and switch)

Pressing the Select/Share button does work as expected with the same set of controllers tested on the same version of Steam LInk running on iPadOS, iOS, and MacOs (13.0.1, and 12.*).

I had previously commented on a similar situation where it was the menu/start button that was working incorrectly in tvOS

one last bit of hopefully helpful info - the select/share button seems to register just fine in the "Test Controller" screen in all above scenarios.

Hoping to see a fix out for this soon, as the multiple Apple Tvs around the house are my main way of enjoying my steam games and content. Or if there is any further trouble shooting steps I can take please let me know.

I can confirm the problem and made a post in the forum at basically the same time. We've now managed to temporarily work around the issue in one game by remapping its controls, but it would be great if the issue itself could be fixed. I'm running the same steam version (1668654564) on Windows 10, latest TvOS and Steamlink app.
Logged in for the first time in a while, and am no longer able to use a Steam Controller via the Steam Link app. It successfully pairs with the Apple TV and is recognized by the app, but as soon as it's connected to a host, it will only pass directional input and the A button.

Same here on Apple TV. Woof
Same problem here : a few months ago Steam Controller with Steam Link on Apple TV worked well, then I've not used the combination for a while. Yesterday I've tried to use it again but I wasn't able to navigate the Big Screen because the buttons where not responding correctly. Also the interface looked different, without the A, B, X, Y reminders at the bottom, it totally looked as the interface on a PC without controller.
Controller issue as reported above with iOS/TvOS.
@slouken, a little more context here - after digging around a bit more and playing with the settings on both the windows PC running steam, as well as the tvOS steam link clients, I tried changing the "Controller Overlay" (Settings -> Steaming Settings 1/3 on tvOS) to "y", guide button, or disabled. I knew the guide button wouldn't do anything on tvOS since that is reserved for the "home" button by the operating system, but when set to either "y" or disabled, the select/share button press continues to do nothing in game when connecting with tvOS. Is this something the Devs are aware of?

Same issue here. It persists both with the Steam Client Beta and the regular stable version. The Steam Controller is my only controller, so Steam Link is completely broken for me at the moment.

Does anyone know of a fix or workaround?

Still no updates? I presume we're a niche of people using that Remote Play + Steam Link app on an iOs/iPadOs/AppleTV client, sadly, this is really only with the Steam Controller, as reported on other threads, it works fine with XBOX ones!

Frustrating that we can't rollback to the previous client version since Apple App Store don't allow that. I'm faithful to the devs, I'm sure they'll figure out and correct that... just have to be patient
Anyone able to even download Steam Link right now? I totally messed up my keybinds and tried to reinstall and now the app won’t download on my Apple TV. Powercycled the Apple TV twice already and other apps download just fine. Anyone else run into this?

Same issue, I just bought an Apple TV thinking it could consolidate my physical Steam Link device and my prior streaming stick, but this issue is preventing my dream from happening. Please give us a fix!
iOS app does not allow pairing on iPad Pro 2022. Fresh download from the App Store and it says the Pin is 0000 and never works.
Apple TV latest version also suffers from encoding issues both with h.264 and HEVC when it comes to Ray tracing, dlss 3 and high resolutions above 1440p. Issues that I don't have with HEVC and the above settings for example in Moonlight which is going to die soon sadly...
I have the same problem with the Steam Controller and the AppleTV. Let’s hope it will be solved soon.
