First thanks to the developers of the Steam Link Apple TV App, it's been a great experience for me so far, and I hope support continues.

I wanted to share feedback on the setup process for streaming over LAN. I found it easy to get things connected and start playing, but I was getting severe frame drops (~20%) which made most games unplayable. I accepted this as a limitation of my network for a while before investigating further using the (very helpful) on-screen performance graph.

When I configured the streaming settings, I used the default recommended settings for 1080p. But this seems to have uncapped the bandwidth from my gaming PC at a rate that was way too high for the Apple TV's decoder to keep up with--I was streaming at ~150MB/s, and capping the bandwidth at ~15MB/s improved performance drastically. I can now play with little/no frame drops 🥳

Since this appears to be a hardware limitation on the Apple TV Pro (I have the 3rd gen model) maybe it would make sense to make the upper bound of the default bitrate something that matches the streaming device's decoding capabilities.
