Does Steam work on the new Apple iMac M1
I have an iMac with an Apple M1 chip and am running OS 11.5 I can not get Steam to work on the new iMac and my old iMac is a 2007 vintage running OS 10.11.06 so no modern games will work on it. How do I get help or talk to someone about this or am I SOL? There are new games I would like to play!

The Steam application on my old iMac was copied to the new one using Migration Assistant. When I open the Steam application on the new iMac the window is blacked out and I can see nothing.

How does this get fixed and is there a customer service function available so I can talk to someone. I am not particularly technical as you can probably see from my post.?

Multiple comments on that post report that the client has not actually been updated for ARM arch.

It did not and I think it will never be :( has been a year already and still running trough rosseta. I see no reason for them to update it or put more effort in using metal apis or anything like that.

Steam would be awesome on mac now that proton is really good, valve shouldn't sleep on this one or slowly apple will take the market
Sounds like you should clean reinstall steam from the website instead of using migration assistant.
