The StyleCaster shopping and editorial team loves Sephora because it’s a one-stop shop for all things beauty (and wellness!). Its product offerings range from the more obvious—like lipsticks and sunscreens—to the lesser-known—such as feminine care, supplements, and refillables. Besides the retailer’s ever-expanding product categories, it’s also growing its portfolio of brands. Think of any TikTok-viral or celeb-founded brand, and it’s likely sold at Sephora. Every brand wants to grace the shelves of a Sephora store because of the retailer’s reach and popularity across all ages, interests, and price points. Where else can you find rhode, Rare Beauty, Summer Fridays, The Ordinary, Biodance, Jo Malone London, Dior, and Laneige all in one place? It even carries a handful of brands that are only available at Sephora, including Glossier, dae, and KAYALI, among others. I literally revert to being a kid in a candy shop whenever I wander through the in-store or online aisles at this retailer, which leads me to my next point.
Sephora’s loyalty program (becoming a Beauty Insider member is completely free!) is one of the most well-known of its kind because of its membership perks. First, you can earn points on all your purchases and then redeem them for rewards. Rewards usually consist of product samples, product bundles, or experiences that can be redeemed in exchange for points from your Rewards Bazaar. Another popular benefit of this free membership is its birthday gift, which is typically a gift set of mini-sized products. And speaking of sets and tiny bottles, those are two more reasons why we stan Sephora. Whenever a holiday rolls around, you can count on this mega beauty retailer for a wide range of gift and value sets. As for mini-sized products, Sephora makes it easy to pack for a trip. All you have to do is shop its travel toiletries in-store or online (these get me every time I join the line in an actual store).
Our final reason for obsessing over Sephora and everything it has to offer is its huge sales and daily offers. For one, its savings events vary. Some might be product category-specific (like fragrances), point multiplier sales for Beauty Insiders, or maybe the retailer is hosting a sale only for VIB-tier members. Sephora also, of course, delivers deals for select seasons and major holidays. But whenever the retailer isn’t running a big blowout sale, like the Sephora Savings Event, you can find daily promotions on its Sale & Offers page.
No, you cannot usually stack Sephora coupons. You can typically only use one coupon code per purchase, with most free-gift offers, deluxe samples, percentage-off codes, and bonus-point codes treated as promo codes.
Beauty Insider points earned from purchases and free shipping perks from a Sephora membership are normally stackable. The birthday gift redemption is also usually stackable, but it depends on the other offer(s). Automatic point multipliers or account-based promotions are sometimes, but not always, stackable, and sale pricing already reflected on the product page is stackable. In general, some promotions are combinable, while others are not. The best way to find out whether a coupon code plays well with others is by checking the fine print on Sephora’s Beauty Offers page.
Most Sephora promo codes are intended for Beauty Insider members. Guest orders usually don’t get to take advantage of coupon codes.
Sephora Beauty Insider benefits differ based on your tier (Rouge, VIB, or Insider), but you ultimately can’t go wrong with joining the retailer’s loyalty program and getting placed in any of the three tiers.
Rouge members must spend $1,000 a year at Sephora, but receive the most perks out of all three Beauty Insider tiers in return. For savings, Rouge members get free shipping (no minimum purchase), Beauty Insider Cash (apply 500 points for $10 off your purchase), Rouge Exclusive Beauty Insider Cash (apply 1,000 points for $20 off your purchase), 20% off seasonal savings events, 4X points for point multiplier events, an end-of-year discount, and a Rouge Exclusive Rouge Reward (exchange 2,500 point for $100 of your purchase). For samples, Rouge members get seven to eight options for their free birthday gift, have access to the Rewards Bazaar (redeem points for samples), and get the opportunity to receive exclusive gifts. Lastly, for experiences, Rouge members can access same-day unlimited delivery, access app exclusives, attend exclusive events, and have Rouge Exclusive first access to products.
While VIB members must spend $350 a year at Sephora, this tier receives the second-best perks. For savings, VIB members get free shipping (no minimum purchase), Beauty Insider Cash (apply 500 points for $10 off your purchase), 15% off seasonal savings events, 3X points for point multiplier events, and an end-of-year discount. For samples, VIB members get seven to eight options for their free birthday gift, have access to the Rewards Bazaar (redeem points for samples), and get the opportunity to receive exclusive gifts. Lastly, for experiences, VIB members can access same-day unlimited delivery, access app exclusives, and attend exclusive events.
Insider members, the lowest tier, have no minimum spending requirement (free to join), but they still receive benefits. For savings, Insider members get free shipping (no minimum purchase), Beauty Insider Cash (apply 500 points for $10 off your purchase), 10% off seasonal savings events, 2X points for point multiplier events, and an end-of-year discount. For samples, Insider members get six to seven options for their free birthday gift and have access to the Rewards Bazaar (redeem points for samples). Lastly, for experiences, Insider members can access same-day unlimited delivery, access app exclusives, and attend exclusive events.
The first step is logging into your Beauty Insider account and adding coupon-eligible items to your online shopping cart. Once you’re done shopping, click on your cart, look for a “Promo Code” text box to enter your code in, and then hit “Apply.” The discount should apply immediately, and if the code you used unlocks multiple free gifts, you can choose from the options presented. Next, continue the checkout process by providing your shipping and billing information.
We have a hard-working team of two shopping editors on StyleCaster: Day in and day out, we check what’s being shopped the most by our readers, and if there are any existing discount codes. Plus, we have relationships with the brands themselves and often secure exclusive or general codes ahead of time. Let’s put it this way: We’re shopping insiders, and we want you to get the very best deal—because why not?
The StyleCaster shopping team is regularly on the hunt for the best deals for you, the readers. We’re a team of four people who find and update coupon codes every day, swapping old codes for new ones. Plus, we give you the shopping 101 you need to make the best choices.
StyleCaster was founded in 2008, covering all things style, beauty, and celeb fashion—and we continue to do that to this day, plus the added value of shopping recommendations, all curated by our commerce editors.
Katie Decker-Jacoby is the Commerce Editor at StyleCaster, which means she tracks down the best products, brands, services, sales, and deals across fashion, beauty, lifestyle, and entertainment on a daily basis. Katie has worked on StyleCaster‘s shopping team since September 2021, securing her nearly five years of experience with writing and editing commerce content, much of which has included sales and deals coverage. She has covered an ungodly amount of savings events, so she knows a thing or two about which discounts are actually worth checking out.
Katie is a Sephora Rouge member, which means she has spent $1,000+ in a calendar year in-store and online. Her favorite way to redeem points is turning in 500 points for $10 off her order. Katie’s favorite brands to stock up on from Sephora, especially when they’re on sale, include (brace yourself) Merit, Huda Beauty, Charlotte Tilbury, Skinfix, Lancôme, Commodity, Jo Malone London, Oribe, OUAI, Vegamour, Tower 28 Beauty, Kosas, Dr. Jart+, and CYKLAR.
