Not supported Suspicious payment activity isn’t allowed under Google Ads billing and payment policies. Google Ads will suspend your account or limit spending if the platform detects suspicious or incorrect payment activity.

Examples (non-exhaustive):

  • Using stolen credit card numbers to pay for Google Ads
  • Using someone else’s identity to apply for monthly invoicing terms on Google Ads
  • Suspicious signs like suddenly using several new credit cards, having payments declined or chargebacks, and unclear credit card ownership or billing details

Why this isn’t allowed

  • Suspicious payment activity could be a sign of fraud: Google Ads wants to protect you and your customers from scams and unauthorized charges.
  • This behaviour can be connected to other harmful activities: Suspicious payments can be a sign of other things that break the rules, such as creating fake accounts or trying to trick people with misleading ads.

Best practices (non-exhaustive)

Tips for submitting your appeal

  • Follow best practices: Implement the best practices provided if you haven’t already.
  • Explain your situation: Give details about who owns the payment method listed on your account or explain any declined payments or chargebacks.
