Link a Campaign Manager 360 advertiser to a Google Ads account

Submit a link request in Google Ads

Advertisers with admin level Google Ads account access or a manager account (MCC) can link a Google Ads account to Campaign Manager 360 from within Google Ads:

  1. Go to Data manager within the Tools menu Tools Icon.
  2. Select Campaign Manager 360.
  3. Select Link Campaign Manager 360.
  4. Enter your Campaign Manager 360 advertiser ID and select Next.
    • Note: You can find your Campaign Manager 360 advertiser ID within the "Properties" page of your Campaign Manager 360 advertiser.
  5. Select Submit to send the link request.
Note: If you unlink the Google Ads account, any trackers that were added should be manually removed. Unlinking doesn’t change any already trafficked creatives. You can manually remove any trackers before unlinking or you can use the Campaign Manager 360 workflow. To do so, navigate to Google Ads tracker assignments in the placement settings page and select Unassign.

Approve a link request in Campaign Manager 360

  1. Navigate to the requested Campaign Manager 306 advertiser and select Properties from the left menu.
  2. Open the Associations section.
  3. Select the link you wish to approve in the "Google Ads" table.
  4. Select Approve.
  5. Select Save.

After approving the link request, your Campaign Manager 360 advertiser will be able to push tracking tags directly to your ads.

Note: Google Ads manager accounts (MCC) can't be linked.

Assign a Campaign Manager 360 placement to Google Ads

Assignments push the impression and click trackers of the selected Campaign Manager 360 placement, ad, and creative combination directly into your ads or asset groups in Google Ads. You can link a placement to all ads across multiple Google Ads campaigns, or to a subset of ads within them.

  1. Navigate to your campaign in Campaign Manager 360.
  2. Select the checkbox of the placement you’d like to link.
  3. Select Assignments, then select Assign to Google Ads.
  4. In the “Assign tracker to Google Ads” panel, choose a tracking ad and creative, then select Next.
  5. Select a Google Ads account in the “Google Ads customer” field.
  6. Select a campaign type.
  7. Choose the campaigns you want to assign the tracker to in the “Google Ads campaign” field.
  8. Select Next.
  9. Choose the ads or asset groups to track and select Assign.

Note: Your campaign selection should adhere to the following guidelines:

  • All selected campaigns must belong to the same Google Ads customer ID.
  • You can only select campaigns that share the same campaign type in a single assignment. To assign trackers to different campaign types, you must complete the assignment process separately for each type.
  • Select a maximum of 100 campaigns at a time to avoid performance issues.

Limitations

  • Specific campaign types are subject to assignment and tracking limitations:
    • Demand Gen, Search, and Performance Max campaign types aren't eligible for assignment in cases where the Google Ads account is linked to Search Ads 360. This is to make sure that the Floodlight conversions aren’t split between Campaign Manager 360 and Search Ads 360.
    • For Search campaigns, only click tracking is supported. Impression tracking isn’t available. All creative types are supported for Search campaigns.
  • In some cases, such as with non multi-format video ads, editing an ad in Google Ads will generate a new ad. If this occurs, the new ad must also be assigned to the Campaign Manager 360 tracker.
  • Transparency and Consent Framework (TCF) and Global Privacy Platform (GPP) parameters aren’t set for Google Ads and third-party ad tracking integrations. Traffic from Google display ads and Google video partners (GVP) within certain locations will lack consent signals and will be treated as cookieless. YouTube and other owned and operated traffic segments aren’t affected.
