Frequently asked questions (FAQs)

What happens to my active legacy line items on October 26, 2026?

On October 26, 2026, Display & Video 360 will automatically archive all remaining active and paused legacy mCPV and efficient reach line items. They will stop serving ads immediately and cannot be unarchived.

Will I lose access to historical reporting after line items are archived?

No. Historical performance metrics for archived line items will remain fully accessible in Display & Video 360 Report Builder and the UI for historical reference and auditing.

Why doesn't Display & Video 360 automatically convert my legacy line items for me?

Modern responsive ads mandate creative assets that legacy ads did not require—specifically a Long Headline and Description. Automating the migration would create incomplete ads, preventing you from creating the new line item types.

Can I create new legacy mCPV or efficient reach line items today?

No. Creation of new legacy mCPV and efficient reach line items is already disabled across the Display & Video 360 UI, SDF, and duplication workflows.

What are the main performance benefits of upgrading to the new Video View and efficient reach line items?

Modern Video View and efficient reach line items harness Google AI to optimize ad delivery across In-Stream, In-Feed, and Shorts. On average, multi-format Video Reach Campaigns deliver +54% more unique reach and 42% lower CPMs compared to In-Stream-only buying.
