Products or your entire Merchant Center setup may be subject to warnings, disapprovals, or suspension if your online store or the product data you share with Merchant Center doesn't meet the Shopping policies and requirements and product data specifications.

You may need to request a review of the disapproved account or product to resolve the issue. The option to request a review will show on the product detail page or within the list of issues, if available. Your ads may not show while your account or products are under review.

  • If the issue is resolved, select I fixed the issue, then select Request review.
  • If you believe the findings are an error, select I disagree with the issue, then select Request review.
  • Before the review button becomes available, you may need to complete other actions, such as merchant verification requirements. Check the Needs attention tab for merchant verification requests. You must also ensure that your product data source isn't empty. If it is, manually add at least one product in All products under Products to prompt eligibility for a review.
  • Contact support if you’re uncertain about the issue or about how to proceed.

Google wants you and your business to be successful. The following are some things to keep in mind when requesting a review.

Finding your issues

Setup & policy issues

Setup & policy issues show in a banner at the top of your Merchant Center. You may also view these issues by following these steps:
  1. Go to Products in Merchant Center.
  2. Select the Needs attention tab above the summary cards.
  3. Select View setup and policy issues.

For applicable issues, select either I fixed the issue or I disagree with the issue, then select Request review.

Wait 7 business days. You’ll receive an email when you request the review and after the review is completed. Keep in mind that the review will apply to all issues for the country you sell products in, and the status of the associated issues will change to “Under review”.

Warning period: You can request one courtesy review of your account at any time during the warning period of 7 or 28 days. If all issues are resolved, the warning will be lifted and your products will show as normal. If issues aren’t resolved, the warning will remain, and your products will continue to show throughout the warning period. A final review occurs at the end of the warning period.

Product-level issues

All product-level issues can be found by selecting the Needs attention tab of the Products page. To review all issues associated with a particular product, follow these steps:
  1. Go to the Needs attention tab.
  2. In the “All products that need attention” table, find the product you want reviewed, then select Fix under the “Status” column to open the product details page.
  3. Under “What needs attention”, select either Request website check or I disagree with the issue.
    • If you’ve fixed the issue, review the policies related to your product disapproval and check the box that acknowledges you reviewed the information.
    • If you disagree with the issue, provide an appeal reason or upload required documentation.
  4. Select Request website check or Request review if applicable. If these buttons aren’t active, ensure you have completed merchant verification and have at least one product in your data source.
If the review is successful, the issue will disappear from Merchant Center.
Note: The Issue Details Page will make it easier to manage and appeal issues. For applicable violations, you will have the option to request a review directly on this page, with all the context you need to understand the decision. Learn more About the Issue Details Page.

The review may take up to 2 weeks to complete. The status of your review will be reflected in Merchant Center or your third-party application.

There are several notification and status types:

  • Review requested
  • Under review
  • Review not approved

Details of when you requested the review will also appear in Merchant Center.

Email notifications regarding the setup & policy issue details will be sent when the review is requested and when the review is completed.

I fixed the issue

Select I fixed the issue, then select Request review if you’re able to resolve the issue.

Review the Shopping policy requirements to better understand the issue and how to resolve it.

Ensure you’ve completed the following steps if you’re addressing a suspension for "Misrepresentation" or online store transparency issues:

  • Complete merchant verification: Check the Needs attention tab for requests to submit a government-issued ID, business documents, and others. This must be done before requesting a review.
  • Audit online store transparency: Ensure accurate business details such as address, phone, and email are visible on your online store and match your Merchant Center settings. Verify that your return and shipping policies are functional and clear.
  • Fix data consistency: Ensure that prices, availability, and product attributes in your data source exactly match your online store.

If you continue having trouble resolving the issue, contact support. If your issues aren’t resolved by the second review attempt, a one-week cool down period may begin.

I disagree with the issue

Google takes policy violations seriously to protect customers. If you believe the issue applied to your setup or product is a mistake, you can appeal the violation by selecting I disagree with the issue, then selecting Request review.

Make sure you understand the policy and can support the request before you disagree with the issue. We may need more information to ensure a safe and trustworthy ecosystem for customers.

You may receive a prompt to submit additional information regarding your online store, products, or business. You may have the ability to explain why the policy wasn't violated, or why the disapproval wasn't justified.

Note: These reviews may take up to 7 business days to complete. This timeline is applicable at an account and item-level.

You may only have one chance to disagree with the issue. You may be required to fix the issue based on policies and requirements after you’ve requested the review and appealed the issue.

Cool down period

The cool down period goes into effect when you’ve exhausted the option to disagree with the decision and you’ve attempted to fix the issue. You can request a review after the cool down ends if your setup is already suspended or in a preemptive item disapproval (PID) state.

  • The review button will be disabled (greyed out) during the cool down period. Check the Needs attention tab for an expiration date to check when the review button will be available again.
  • Google support can’t bypass or shorten the cool down period.
  • The cool down period may increase with each unsuccessful review.
  • Use this time to audit your online store for transparency, such as business contact info and ensure your product data matches your online store.
  • After the cool down period passes, the Request review or I fixed the issue button will be available again.
Note: It may take up to 7 business days to complete the review. Products that are approved will be eligible to show across Google within 24 hours.
