Putney är en stadsdel (district) i Wandsworth i London, beläget 8,2 km sydväst om Charing Cross, på södra stranden av Themsen mittemot Fulham. Putney var en civil parish fram till 1904 när blev den en del av Wandsworth Borough.^[1] Denna civil parish hade 24 139 invånare år 1901.^[2] Putney nämndes i Domedagsboken (Domesday Book) år 1086, och kallades då Putelei.^[3]
