The American Kenaf Society (AKS) was founded in 1997 as a non-profit organization and is international in scope. Members include individuals and organizations working directly or indirectly with kenaf and kenaf-based products, plus those with environmental concerns. Many members are committed to conducting research to improve kenaf for commercial growth and to developing markets for new and existing products and applications utilizing various parts of the plant including stalk fibers, leaves and seeds.

AKS newsletters are sent to members as a vehicle for information exchange. In addition, more formal exchanges occur at AKS annual conferences. Abstracts and meeting programs that are available can be viewed by clicking here.
