      Runners: Good, affordable watch

I bought this watch specifically to be a running watch and not spend WAY more on typical GPS running watches. It does a really good job and meets my needs. Here's what you should know as a runner.

First, the GPS is inaccurate unless you update the setting on the watch to leave the watch constantly on during workouts. It defaults to a battery save mode that cycles the GPS on and off, but that leads to inaccurate readings. You may also want to calibrate the compass in the widgets. Once you do that, the GPS is on par with other running watches.

Second, through the app, you can sync to Strava so workouts transfer automatically. However, there seems to be an issue with sending map data, it just sends time, distance, and heart rate. You can, however, download the GPX files and upload them manually.

Finally, it doesn't appear that there is an option for laps and splits. I could be wrong, but I haven't found it. It does automatically split at miles, and I think you can adjust that distance, but I haven't found a way to do a manual split for intervals or repeats. Not a deal breaker in my book for the price.

The watch is designed as a smart watch, not a runners watch. Still, if you spend some time to set it up, it does a good job as a runners watch and is far more affordable than others.

Despite always owning Apple products, I’m not the type that’s obsessed and sees no other option than Apple, 100% of the time. I just enjoy their products and the reliable good quality. So, when I was looking into getting a smart watch, my first instinct was an Apple Watch. Nothing fancy or packed full of every known feature. Just something simple, with good sensors to help me monitor and improve my sleep, exercise, stress levels and a few other things. With that in mind, the Apple Watch SE was the cheapest model that basically did all I was looking for. But considering what I wanted compared to what higher end smart watches do, the price tag didn’t seem all that “entry level” to me (which I was expecting). So I did some research to find something that seemed like a more reasonable option and that’s when I stumbled upon Amazfit. I looked at a bunch of breakdowns on trusted tech review sites and used Versus.com to further compare every single difference between each model, which was incredibly helpful. The GTS 2e checked all of my boxes and cost almost a third of what I would’ve spent on an Apple Watch SE. If you have the same standards as I did and are questioning, I’ll just list the most notable differences. If you need a watch that you can answer phone calls with, can use for NFC payments, and connects to Wi-Fi as opposed to only using Bluetooth for updating via your phone, go with the SE. But if you don’t absolutely need that stuff, what going with the GTS 2e will give you that the SE cannot are blood oxygenation levels, much longer battery life with faster charging, compatibility with Android, always-on display, and a thinner, lighter and more comfortable watch. Weigh those pros and cons yourself, then go with your gut. The GTS 2e has a snappy, clean interface. It’s constructed beautifully and the watch and band it comes with feel very expensive. The features function quite flawlessly and the app is wonderfully designed. I really don’t have anything all that negative to say. My only nitpicky thing is that sometimes, I have to open the app in order to update and display the current weather conditions. I suppose if it had Wi-Fi, that might not be necessary. But since I’ve had it, I can’t think of anything truly bothersome. Overall, one of the best purchases I’ve made in quite a while. Hope this helps.

truly love this watch. this is for people that want a watch as a fitness/sleep tracker and don't need the bells and whistles of a apple or android watch

      pros:

      - reasonable cheap for what you get

      - nice sleep and fitness tracking

      - don't use the GPS that much because i don't do a lot of outdoor running or cycling. but responds quickly and very accurate

      - lots and lots of nice watch faces. you can also store a lot on the watch. on the GTS you could only store 3

      - bright, beautiful screen

      - i have the silver case with an after market band. nice combo

      - screen quite scratch resistant. far better than the GTS. i'm very hard on watches so i'm very surprised i haven't scratched it after 2 months

      - maybe small thing for others but important for me. my alarm is the watch vibrating on my wrist. the best way to wake up without waking up others with an annoying sound. would have liked the crown to be the off button but i assume that was on purpose, too easy to press and sleep on

      - replacement bands cheap and easy to find

      cons:

      - battery be better but could just be me. i keep most things on, phone connection, always on display, constant HR tracking. get about 3-4 days

      - zepp app not great. could be improved

So I was very scared to make a purchase this big online without seeing the product.. however, I received it 3 weeks ago and I LOVE IT! I got the purple band and its so pretty! I'd say i have bigger wrists and it is SUPER adjustable. It is comfortable to wear daily. It tracks sleep, workouts, heart rate, steps, fat burning, calories and when you are not moving (you can turn off reminders but you get points for how often you're standing!) Since getting the watch it has helped me become more active and more health conscious. I am now challenged to meet my goals and it keeps me accountable. I have a galaxy a21 (android).. I can use alexa and the watch has weather and music capabilities. You can also add alarms, events and recieve texts and calls! I can't answer texts from the watch but I belive it is just my phone capabilities. I have found alot of things just by playing with the watch and going through all the buttons. The app that comes along with it is very user friendly and I love looking at my sleep patterns daily.. I have gotten water on it from rain, washing dishes and just working( as a server) it just wipes right off and it didn't effect it at all! I do not wear it in the shower (I've seen alot of people say they'd swim with it but i wouldnt...)anyways, I hope this helps!

Battery life and Amazfit Customer Support are simply terrible

I've waited 60 days to write this review. That's how long it's been since I received the watch and it's also how long it's been since I made Amazfit aware the watch won't charge reliably (sometimes not at all) and the charge degrades about 2% to 4 % / hour even with all extra functions turned off. Amazon let me know Amazfit has specified I must contact them (Amazfit) to get the problem addressed. Amazfit tells me I have to go to Amazon. Terrible circle for the customer. Amazfit asked for serial numbers and proof of purchase, which I provided to them 30 days ago and still I can't get a response nor can I get this watch returned. DO NOT PURCHASE from Amazfit unless you are willing to take the risk of your product not working. If it doesn't work, be willing to throw it away. I've waisted hours of time on resetting and investigating the product as well as communication via emails and phone calls to Amazon and Amazfit. I don't want you to do the same.

Good Features & Functions - Variable Device HW Quality - Execellent Return & Delivery Process
Reviewed in the United States on October 9, 2022
Brief content visible, double tap to read full content.
Full content visible, double tap to read brief content.

In terms of functions, features for the price - with the exception of Alexa integration - the Amazfit GTS 2e Smart Watch for Men performs as advertised. As far as Alexa integration is concerned, didn't have a chance to try it.

Paired with the Zepp fitness app (it's preferred app), the device will satisfy the needs of people who need primarily basic to moderate levels of fitness info/data to monitor activity/workouts . After five days of continuous use, the Amazfit GTS 2e device I currently have still had a 33% charge.

      DOCUMENTATION - INSTALLATION AND USE

Documentation on how to initially download and install the Zepp app onto a smartphone, then pair the device with the Zepp app and a smartphone is sparse.

To download and install the app on a smartphone, just scan the QR code contained on the first or second page of the booklet that comes with the watch.

Then, to pair the watch to the downloaded and installed Zepp app, power on the watch and scan the QR code on the watch with a smartphone camera, and let the Zepp app guide you through the pairing process. Or, go into the Zepp app, select profile, My devices and follow the instructions to pair the watch to the app.

Learning to navigate through the device and utilize its features is better described through a series of screens on the watch when first using the device. At its heart, the device is easy and intuitive to use.

      ISSUE

The overriding issue with the device is hardware quality. In the course of two weeks, I had to return two of the devices.

The first device failed after about six days when swimming in a pool. It appears the device flooded and would no longer power on. Recall that the device is supposed to be water resistant to 5ATM (about 165ft or 50m).

In addition, the first device's battery had a low performance rate. It required recharging on a nightly basis. Again, recall that according to advertisements, the device should last up to about 14 days on a full charge.

The second device worked well for several days and had a good performing battery. That second device failed, though, after about five days when the touch screen stopped functioning.

AMAZON RETURN - REFUND - FULFILLMENT

What, however, made the above experiences bearable and manageable - Amazon's return/refund/fulfillment process. After reporting the first device failure, Amazon had a replacement device delivered within 24 hours. When the second device failed, Amazon offered a full refund (they did not offer to replace the failed device with another GTS 2e).

The above transactions occurred online and each took less than 10 minutes to complete.

      GOING FORWARD

Given the features and functions of the device family, the price point, and the fast and efficient way in which Amazon handled the deliveries, returns, and refunds. I'm willing try another version of the GTS; this time, the Amazfit Bip 3. That device is scheduled to arrive within a day. If the Amazon return/refund/delivery process were not as efficient as previously noted, odds are the next step would be to search for a different brand of fitness tracker.

      OVERALL TAKEAWAYS:

      1. Good fitness features and functions for both the device and it's associated app for the price.

      2. Sparse instructions on how to pair watch to Zepp app on a smartphone.

      3. Satisfactory screen instructions showing user how to navigate and use features on watch.

      4. Variable device hardware quality.

      3. Good and timely Amazon return/replacement/refund process.

I am coming from a Samsung Gear S2 and then a few crappy ones from Bangood and AliExpress. This is the best smartwatch I have had so far. I am in the Samsung/Android ecosystem, so no crapple for my wrist.

Battery Life....W O W. I received this on Mon afternoon. Charged it up and started wearing that evening. I have been customizing and exploring all its options, so I have been harder on the battery life than normal wear. HOWEVER, here it is Fri morning and my watch still has 32%. I have all settings turned on to track steps, heart rate, sleep, etc. I bet I can squeeze a week out of it.

User interface......simple and straight forward. I don't need silly bubble icons, just gimmie a list and let me click on what I want to.

Features.....outstanding. Your normal step tracker. Plus heart rate monitor, SpO2, skin temp, stress monitor, weather, alarm (for us old school 80's kids that loved having an alarm on our watch), oh, and a DND feature to keep your watch from buzzing at night! You can also setup the screen on a schedule to not turn on when you turn your wrist so you are not constantly blinding your wife while sleeping (bonus). There are few widgets, a compass so you don't get lost, a barometric altimeter....because, why not!, timer, and count down.

App....clean and straight forward. I was never a fan of the Samsung health tracker. Zepp is a fantastic app that does not drain your phone battery. There is a built in "store" with extra watch faces. There are other apps for watch faces, but that's not what this review is about.

Overall, Amazfit GTS 2E is excellent. I have yet to find a feature or flaw that doesn't get me through the day. Yes, this model does not have a speaker so you can't be cool like Dick Tracy and call from your wrist, but who needs that anyway. I am an IT professional and need a watch that shows text, emails, Teams alerts, and incoming calls. Oh, and did I mention this thing has excellent battery life. I bet I can get a week without having to take my watch off at night to charge it.

Amazing. What a smartwatch should be. You won't regret your purchase.

So many things to write about this watch! I’ve had It for a while and has not disappointed at all. Using the app, you can see how many hours you sleep and track your REM sleep or the times you wake up at night. Has TONS of options for the “Work” out tab, you can get notifications from WhatsApp, Instagram, incoming calls, when it’s time to get up, etc. You can’t get notifications for iMessage. It is stylish and has many screen options. Every morning I wash my face and water lands on It all the time and has not given me any issues. Best purchase.

Bought the product in 2023. Used it occasionally. End of 2025, almost 2 years, watch goes crazy. It goes on and off every 40 seconds. No time even to update. Baterry is excellent lasts 7 days but what for if I cant use the watch. Softare not reliable!

Ich habe eigentlich Wert auf eine längere Akkulaufzeit. Angegeben wurde sie mit 4-5 Tage. Das Akku hält manchmal niemals einen Tag, höchstens 2 Tage. Das ist nicht gut.

Watch was easy to set up via the app. works well with little reminders thru. out the day to get active.

Would to find out more about a few features and symbols on the watch.

I have to say this watch works great, tracks activities, and monitors steps and things like heartrate really well.

Love the fact it has a built in GPS, and I find after a few weeks of use the battery life is about 7 days the way I use the watch, which is very acceptable to me.

It was dead easy to set up and sync with the app, and I find the app is also very good and intuitively easy to use.

I would highly recommend this product.
