Best home office equipment I've ever tried!!

Honestly I wasn't completely sold when I first saw that Anker is starting to do home office equipments, but decided to give it a try since I do like and trust the brand.

Turned out to be the best purchase I've made since working from home!!

It's certainly more pricy than many other webcams on the market, but I found it so worth every penny I paid.

Initially, I thought the basic webcam that comes with my laptop should be sufficient; however, I soon realized how powerful this webcam is, with an extremely high video quality which enables for a much better professional look with a perfect video angle (very easily adjustable ❤️❤️ great product design!!!) , as well as the high-quality voice with noise canceling functionality. (See picture attached for a comparison of using Zoom with MacBook Pro 2019 built-in camera, taken at the exact same location, lighting, angle etc)

The Plug and play support that comes with this webcam was AMAZING.🥳 By simply connecting the webcam to my laptop anytime, anywhere, (or even my friend's laptop for the first time!), NO SETUP NEEDED, it immediately enables the mic and video perfectly whenever I join video conference calls via Google Meet, Zoom, and a bunch of other apps I didn't personally try out (WebEx Teams, Microsoft Teams, etc)

And bonus points for being a great help to my roommate who used this webcam for tons of interviews while job hunting during covid, said it always worked perfectly, led to great video conference experiences, and was a great help in landing a new job offer recently!

This is the 3rd webcam I’ve purchased since The great work-from-home era began last spring. Finding a good one that isn’t way over priced bas been a real adventure.

This one was more than I really wanted to spend too, but it seems worth the price, at least on 2021 terms. The picture is great, and the color rendering and auto exposure is the best I’ve ever seen on a webcam, and the mic sounds nice and full. I also really appreciate the ability to choose a couple of different aspects. Really nice touch.

I also want to just say thanks to Anker for their incredible customer service. The first camera I ordered got lost in the mail. USPS claimed they delivered it, but they absolutely never delivered it. USPS’s response was a collective shrug. Like it was astonishing how little they cared. I reached out to Anker expecting I may just be out of luck, but Ada, the service rep was so kind and helpful. Once it was clear USPS wasn’t going to do anything she shipped me a new one immediately. The most pleasant customer service experience I’ve had in awhile. Thanks Anker and thanks Ada!

I buy a lot of Anker products. They work great, are built well and fairly priced. And it turns out their people are great too. Makes it easy to keep buying Anker products.

Not much better than built-in camera

I bought three cameras: the Logitech Brio, the Anker C300, and the Razor Kiyo Pro to compare them. I only compared video and not the microphone. None of the cameras delivers a large improvement over the camera built-into the MacBook, which is not great to start with. (Nothing compared to the iPhone or iPad Pro/Air cameras.)

Let's start with the good: the Anker picture clarity and low light ability is the best of all cameras. This is the only cameras that also gets away with a USB2 connection which means you can use a cheap USB-C charger cord as an extension. The cameras has the widest FoV, which may be good if you are looking to cover a conference room, but is not useful in a private office setting. Since the camera deploys only a 2MP sensors (just like the Razor), changing FoV lowers the resolution. to essentially 720p, not any better than the built-in camera. I had no problem with the software, Facetime, or Zoom. There is a slight LED flicker noticeable, which may improve in subsequent firmware updates. Color rendering is subjectively as good as a DSLR solution, with the Razor and Brio significantly behind. Is the Anker a buy recommendation? Well, if you have no built-in camera, it is good and cost effective. If you have a built-in camera already and you work out of a dark room or at night, absolutely. Otherwise, mehhh. I still gave it a 4 for the use cases described.

This camera is actually really fantastic. I replaced my Logitech 920 with this. The C920 my be the classic everyone goes to and one ive had for years but it is slow, grainy and terrible. This webcam however is great with lighting, picture quality and can be used at 60 fps. The FOVs are really nice, though i use the closest one as i stream and my green screen isnt an entire wall.

With my C920, even with good lighting, id still get lots of shimmering and the green coming in and out when i move around on camera with color keying. It was lretty annoying. With this Anker C300 (why similar names?) I dont have that problem and i didn't even have to adjust any sliders after just selecting Color Key in SLOBS. It was perfect.

What got me the other day though that realky made me go wow was that i was streaming without key lights and such, just using natural daylight and overtime it got darker of course and i mean like real dark, sun already set and i look at my screen and see that even in this dark, little to no light room im in, my green screen is still color keyed out perfectly. The lowlight on this webcam is fantastic. I once foolishly thought id have to get a mirrorless or DSLR camera to hook up as a webcam to get an amazing picture but i was wrong. Definitely recommend this.

I purchased this webcam because my husband and I are needing it for pre-birth classes that are virtual. My husband opened it and plugged it in via usb-c into the back of his PC. Nothing happened even after downloading the software. So it comes with a usb-A adaptor. He plugged that in and the entire computer shuts off. This happened several more times. At this point we really weren't sure what to do. So he tries it on his laptop and nothing at all happens. At this point he looks for answers with the motherboard manufacturer as to why it would shut off the entire system. The manufacturer told him that this is a safety feature when the motherboard senses electrical harm.

My husband decided instead of just sending it back to amazon we would contact Anker directly. He was assisted by Karen who was amazing in this entire process. She was able to talk to the engineering team at Anker and this is a new problem they hadn't run into. So they requested we send the damaged one back for their engineers to examine and they would ship us a new one. The new one arrived two days later and works perfectly.

The quality is exactly what we expected. For the price 1080p 60hz is quite good and we have no complaints. The autofocus is fast and accurate and the follow feature is amazing for a webcam.

I've been experimenting with 6-7 cameras in the last few months because of all the zoom meetings, talks, conferences, etc. In the last round I wanted to pay a little more to get a little more -- specifically lighting performance and picture clarity. Well, I found this and much more with the Anker PowerConf C300. It has all kinds of adjustments that really work (check it out), different modes (all quite helpful), and an updating software system. I couldn't be more pleased. Actually I could. Three days before I was to give a talk on Zoom, suddenly the camera stopped working. I called the company and got a great rep. Since I had decided I wanted an additional camera as a back-up (good policy), he discovered I could order one through Amazon that would get to me in two days AND was $30 less. Too, he said the company would send a replacement camera once they received my dysfunctional one. The new camera from Amazon came just in time, AND the company sent me a replacement for the bad one even before they received mine. Nothing like having a great camera, AND great customer service. For my purposes, it doesn't get any better.

Everytime I get on a video call, everyone is impressed by how the camera moves to zoom on me. Everyone thinks it's kind of cool.

I like the way it improves the lighting automatically. Was very easy to install and worked great with both a Mac and a laptop.

I am not sure what I am missing with the microphones. I use a separate desktop 🎤.

Update: I traveled to India and used the Anker webcam microphone. So my calls were perfect and the camera microphone also drowned non-speech sounds like dogs barking. This was awesome.

I am writing this review after a year of purchase and I love this product, definitely recommend it. I like Anker as a company, quality is great

I am considering upgrading to the next webcam that also includes a light. Takes away the need to have a separate light.

      Disappointing image quality
Reviewed in the United States on February 17, 2022
Brief content visible, double tap to read full content.
Full content visible, double tap to read brief content.

I bought this camera without researching it, as I have come to trust the Anker brand over the years. Unfortunately, the camera was a disappointment and I ended up returning it.

The biggest issue was the fact it made me pink. Freakishly pink. I couldn't find a hue slider in the provided software to correct the issue and my 3rd party software wouldn't cooperate with it.

On the positive side, the HDR option is good to have. It does a fairly decent job of removing blown highlights and boosting shadows. The auto focus is also very good. It puts the auto focus on the the Logitech C920 to shame.

Overall though, I found the image quality to be poor. It obviously has a tiny sensor so there is a lot of noise. It deals with this by subjecting the image to both aggressive noise reduction and then sharpening. I personally thought the resulting image looked awful. I immediately looked for a way to reduce the sharpening in the software. When I did that it didn't make it look like I had turned the sharpening down. It made me look like I had obscured the sharpening with added digital blur. Even worse.

I don't like the 3 viewing angle choices, as if you choose anything other than ultra-wide you are throwing away valuable resolution. This doesn't have a 12MP sensor like recent iPads/iMacs that can zoom by using a 1080p portion of the sensor. This whole sensor is only 1080p. Any zoom and you are at 720p or 480p. More blur.

Putting all these complaints aside, if you are not too fussy about great image quality and you have a complexion unlike mine, you may be very happy with this camera. It isn't too expensive and it is better than other cameras in many ways. I bought it to replace a C920. If I hadn't looked pink I would have lived with the other downsides and kept it. I found it far superior to the C920 technically.

If you are after a really good image, you need a webcam with a larger sensor. Finding one with a large sensor is pretty much impossible I have found. I have no idea why.

The only one I have been able to find that comes close is the "MOKOSE 4K@30fps USB Camera with 6-12mm Varifocal Manual Lens". That camera requires manual focusing and needs a separate microphone, but if you are willing to mess around a bit, you can get a really nice image out of it.

I wish Anker would take all they have achieved technically with this product and use the knowledge with a decent sensor and optics.

Anker PowerConf C300 - Amazing Quality Webcam that make brand names Cams look bad

PowerConf C300 - Are an amazing quality webcam that make brand names look bad and redundant, I have had two of these for months now running on Mac mini M1's and cannot recommend these highly enough, I tried all the other major brands and none worked some not at all on the latest Apple Macs, and returned all of them including high end units from Logitech and Microsoft. These PowerConf C300 just worked without any hassle straight out of the box, amazing video quality under any lighting conditions, and all the 3rd party social and conference call software just works. Anker has been updating software and firmware on a regular basis, and I see improvements with each release. Well done Anker.... get these if you are serious about video conferencing or Blogging.

Up to the usual Anker standards - finally a webcam for the home working pro!

First, fair warning, it's early days and I've only been using this for a day, but initial impressions are nothing short of excellent. I'm a big fan of Anker kit and own several of their products, all of which have performed very well. This new webcam is no exception. Surely everyone must be aware of how hard it is to get hold of a decent webcam at the moment, with the world and his dog working from home. I've been using an old Logitech C270 which is no more than average in ideal lighting and pretty poor in low light. And the ubiquitous 'top-tier' C920 version has been out of stock or stupidly priced for the last 12 months. So along came the Anker C300 and I decided to pull the trigger on it quickly before this becomes a rare item too!

It feels quality from the outset, with a nice solid feel and integrated mount so it can be used on top of a monitor, standalone, or attached to a tripod. There is a supplied USB C cable that is detachable from the webcam, which is a nice touch. There's also an included USB type A adapter should your computer not have the newer USB C connection. There's a white LED to the right of the lens which indicates when the camera is on, but if you're particularly paranoid, Anker have thoughtfully included 2 stick-on privacy covers.

Plugging it in, the C300 was recognised immediately by Windows 10 and worked without any drivers. Although you'll definitely want to download the suggested 'AnkerWork' app as it provided a camera firmware update straight out of the box. The same software also allows you to tweak the camera settings to adjust the resolution, FPS (30 or 60), viewing angle, HDR, and auto framing features. These can be all changed individually, or you can pick one of the presets (Personal, Streaming, or Meeting).

Now on to the important bit - the imagine quality. Wow! Maybe I'm just easily impressed having been used to a barrage of average laptop webcams, but the C300 image really stands out. In 1080p mode it's sharp, bright, and has none of the usual webcam colour problems, giving a very natural picture. Your Zoom/Teams meetings will never look the same again! Autofocus seems accurate and speedy, and the 'follow' function actually seems to work well.

Whilst I use a standalone USB microphone for my calls, I did give the on-board mic a go, and was very surprised at how good it sounded. It did a good job of isolating background noise too. Certainly if you haven't got another microphone, this will be more than adequate for your average conference call. I used it for one of my work calls, and had no complaints.

So overall then, Anker have done it again. Another top quality product from them to shake up what has been a very stagnant market. The only downside is the relatively expensive price tag, but in this case you definitely seem to get what you pay for. To be completely transparent, I did manage to get a hefty £30 'early bird' discount on it, which made it quite a bargain.
