Deloitte USI Interview Experience | On-Campus | Deloitte US India - Analyst | FTE

The recruitment process began with a Pre-Placement Talk on August 27, 2024, where Deloitte representatives discussed the company culture, role expectations, and growth opportunities. Deloitte US India visited our campus to hire for three profiles:

  1. Deloitte US India - Analyst
  2. Deloitte US India - Technology Analyst (Cyber & Strategic Risk)
  3. Deloitte US India - Technology Solutions - Analyst

My Chosen Role: Analyst

I opted for the Deloitte US India - Analyst role due to its dynamic nature and alignment with my interests in consulting, strategy, and innovation. This role offers immense growth opportunities in the consulting domain.

Selection Process

The recruitment process consisted of two rounds:

Round 1: Online Assessment (2 Sept 2024)

  • Duration: 90 minutes
  • Total Questions: 67
  • Sections: 4
  • Sectional Cutoff: Yes
  • Topics Covered:
    • Analytical Ability
    • Quantitative Ability
    • Verbal Ability
    • Computer Science Fundamentals: OS, DBMS, Cloud Computing, SQL, Pseudocodes
    • Coding Questions: 2 coding questions, both on Strings

Round 2: Technical + HR Interview (10 Sept 2024)

The second round started with:

  1. Introduction: I gave a brief overview of my academic background, skills, internship experience, and positions of responsibility.
  2. Interviewer’s Introduction: The interviewer shared their experience, expertise, and expectations for the conversation.

Technical Discussion:

  • Resume and Projects: Major focus on the projects listed in my resume.
  • Core Subjects: Topics covered included Data Structures, Algorithms, OOP, DBMS, and other coursework mentioned in my resume.

Coding and SQL Questions:

  • DSA Question: Write a code to reverse a string.
  • SQL Queries:
    • Left Join and Count: Given two tables A (17 rows) and B (6000 rows) with a common 'id' column, write a query to perform a left join and count the number of records.
  • Verbal SQL Questions:
    • Joins (Inner, Outer, Left, Right)
    • Group By clause
    • Aggregate functions (SUM, AVG, MAX, MIN)

Behavioral Questions:

  • Questions assessing teamwork, communication, and problem-solving skills.

The Moment of Truth

Receiving the offer letter from Deloitte US India was an incredible moment. Being selected for the Analyst role is a dream come true, and I’m excited to start this professional journey.

Verdict: Selected!

Advice to Fellow Students:

  1. Build a strong foundation in your domain and be well-versed with your resume. Avoid mentioning anything you aren’t confident about, as they may deep dive into topics.
  2. Ensure your communication skills are excellent.
  3. Focus on improving soft skills.
  4. Stay updated with industry trends.
  5. Showcase your passion and enthusiasm during the interview.
  6. Practice SQL queries and DSA concepts regularly.
  7. Always ask questions at the end of the interview to show curiosity about joining Deloitte.
  8. Conduct thorough research on Deloitte, the services they offer, and the technologies they work with.
