There's a tree, so this must be a park!!
There's a tree, so this must be a park!!

My wife has invested *incredible* amounts of time and effort into our yard in the last few years. Unusually, our house sits way to one side of our lot, so the one side is just 6000 square feet of flower beds, a 15x25 fenced garden, a MASSIVE flowering imperial cherry tree, wrought-iron arches with climbing trumpet vines, hummingbird misters, bird baths, the whole bit.

Mind you, it is fenced in. And you have to walk around 3 parked vehicles and go through 2 gates to get in there.

I come home from work, and the first thing I notice is a baby sitting in the flower bed, throwing dirt everywhere. For a moment, I think it's someone my wife has over, until I notice that neither of the cars in the driveway belongs to us. I park at the end of the driveway, and 4 people are sitting under my pergola, at my table, with their strollers.

For some reason, I hadn't noticed until that they had to move my motorcycle to get their strollers up to and through the gate.

I walk up and ask them who the heck they are, what they're doing in my yard, and who owns the baby currently destroying my wife's flowers.

I get an extraordinarily snotty response they they live on this block now, and are as entitled to use the park as anyone else. I told them it's not a park, it is my yard, and they need to leave.

Rather than admitting they made a mistake, she decides to get huffy, and tell me that it doesn't become mine just because I live next to it. I told her she had until I finished using the bathroom, because if I came back out and they were still there, I would call the police.

They left, and I put a padlock on the gate.

The husband showed up 3 hours later wanting to know what the park hours were. I told him there weren't any park hours, it is my yard. He told me it wasn't fair that I had a private park, and I'd be hearing from his lawyer.

I'm sure it's going to get interesting in the next few months.

ETA: This has been up for 20 minutes, and it's already been pointed out so much I'm adding that I already have cameras. Both the security kind and the bird kind.

Your child is not entitled to my window seat!
Your child is not entitled to my window seat!

Dear young parents,

Please stop expecting random adults to give up their window seat they paid for just so your child can look out the window. Because “oh he/she gets cranky, needs to sit by the window, please blah blah blah!

Dude I understand your child is cranky. I understand they really, really want the window seat. But, that’s a YOU problem, book it and pay for it in advance.

Please don’t come to me or to any other person for that matter assuming that they’ll just give up their seat, because who wouldn’t do that for a child????

I paid for my seat. I chose my seat. I would like to sit in my seat. And no, I don’t think a child’s disappointment/crankiness/sobs automatically takes priority over an adult who specifically paid for that seat.

The entitlement of expecting strangers to inconvenience themselves because your child is upset needs to stop.

By brown people- i meant that it happened in my country on a domestic flight, so i wrote it that way, didn’t translate well i guess. So pls ignore that part. 🥲

Thanks to all of you for commenting and making me feel like I’m not the only one who thinks this way.
The incident that happened with me actually triggered this post. A child was already sitting in my window seat when I got to my seat. His mother (I’m assuming) saw me, and when I told her it was my seat, she said, “Oh please let him sit, he’ll fall asleep in 10 mins, and then you can take your seat.”
I didn’t like it because I wanted to sit in my seat during takeoff. It was evening, and I love sitting by the window then. But with everyone around looking at me, it felt like such a small thing to say no to, so I said okay.

Except, the little guy didn’t sleep for the entire flight. 😭 I asked her again after half an hour, and she said, “He’s getting cranky, please.” And once again, I couldn’t speak up.

So I spent the whole flight in someone else’s seat, it was an aisle seat, eyeing her, and feeling stupid for not just saying no. It honestly ruined my mood.

Update: I literally just ran into my neighbor while getting home from work and shit is getting messy

So I literally posted about this damn woman barely 12 hours ago (things hit the fan this weekend but posted about it today) and I ALREADY have a gah damn update 😮‍💨

Here is the original post from earlier if you want some context: Original Post

Ok so listen….I pulled into the apartment garage not even 30 minutes ago and shit has already hit the fan.

So I parked my car, opened my trunk and grabbed all my massage stuff from the work day, essentially my table and bag. And as I was walking to the front door, my neighbor who I got into it with the other night was walking out, made DIRECT eye contact with me, saw my hands were full and instead of keeping the door open she dead ass walked out and shoved it shut as I was steps away…

Then as she passed me, she turned around and literally told me “I see you’re still around, hope you have your keys”

Yall I about LOST MY SHIT.

I put my stuff down and said “ma’am I don’t know what the fuck your problem is but redirect your bullshit to someone else cause I ain’t the one”.

This chick dead ass gasps, picks up her phone and calls someone saying I am harassing her and that I kept getting in her face…

I was at least 15-20 yards away. I know better than to do that nor would I ever do that!

Luckily a woman who did recognize me and is actually very kind happened to walk by at the end of this and asked if everything was ok and this woman straight up said:

“Do you know this man? He’s always walking around here late at night and he just got real aggressive with me”

Turns out she saw the whole interaction from a far and said “yes I know him, he’s one of the kindest men I know, please leave him alone” and she just stormed off…

Bro I don’t know what the hell this chick is smoking but yall I don’t even know how to react to this mess anymore. 😩
