About

E! history, coverage, features

E! is a pay-TV channel available in the United States on cable TV. The channel is owned by NBC and was launched in 1987.

When the channel first launched, it was called ‘Movietime’ and was used to show movie trailers and news from the film and entertainment industry. This shifted in 1990 when it was renamed E!, and alongside the name change came a more expansive set of programming.

The channel now focuses on pop culture, reality shows, news and movies. In the past, the channel has also shown live sports, mainly as an overflow feed for NBC Sports when they have the rights for multiple simultaneous events.

In terms of live football, E! has previously shown live coverage of the English Premier League.

To watch E! In the United States, users can either use the cable TV channel or watch it through one of the following streaming platforms - DirecTV, Fubo, Hulu, Sling TV and YouTube TV. A paid subscription is required.
