Broadcast Rights

Competitions available on RTS 2

RTS owns the free-to-air broadcast rights in Serbia for the 2026 FIFA World Cup in Canada, Mexico and the United States. The national broadcaster of Serbia has owned the FIFA World Cup rights in the country since 1994, and they have retained the rights for the 2026 and 2030 tournaments, which have been expanded to 48 teams for the first time.
RTS is the home of the Women's Champions League in Serbia, thanks to a deal agreed with UEFA in the summer of 2025. The free-to-air broadcaster shows at least one match from the competition each game week, in addition to any matches featuring Serbian clubs. At the end of each season, RTS also shows live coverage of one of the semi-finals and the final.

About

RTS 2 history, coverage, features

RTS 2 is a Serbian public television channel owned and operated by the Radio and Television System of Serbia. It was launched on December 31, 1971 under the name TVB 2 as part of a rebranding process that included its sister channel RTS 1 (formerly known as TVB 1). In 1992, the channel would undergo another rebranding, this time to RTS B2, but that change would only last for three years, when its parent company decided to name it RTS 2. It became the second Serbian public television channel to see the light in that country behind RTS 1.

Over the years, RTS 2 has been known as a general interest channel. Some of the topics that have been covered on this channel have included news, magazine shows, parliamentary debates, cultural shows, children’s programming, sports, comedy series, cooking programs, and more. While most of the content aired on this channel has been produced within the country, there have been other shows and series that have been produced abroad.

Speaking about sports, RTS 2 has covered disciplines such as football, basketball, motorsports, tennis, winter sports, and more. When it comes to football, RTS 2 has included tournaments such as the UEFA Champions League, different editions of the FIFA World Cup, and games for Serbian Super League and the Serbian Cup.

RTS 2 was launched as a Standard Definition channel, but a HD feed saw the light in 2010 to improve the audience’s experience. Both feeds may still be available in certain regions of the country via different pay-tv carriers.
