In Spain, RTVE will provide free-to-air coverage of the 2026 FIFA World Cup on La 1 and selected RTVE channels, with live streaming on RTVE Play, while Mediapro’s GolStadium will carry all 104 matches, including 71 exclusive games, on a subscription basis. For viewers looking to watch the 2026 FIFA World Cup live in Spain, the main options are RTVE for the free package and GolStadium for full tournament access.
Fans in Spain can watch UEFA Euro 2028, as well as the Spanish national team in general from 2026 to 2028, live on the public-service broadcaster RTVE. This comes courtesy of a broadcast rights deal with UEFA for the European Championship, with the 2028 edition being co-hosted by the UK and the Republic of Ireland.
Spanish free-to-air broadcaster, Radio y Televisión Española (RTVE), has the rights to show the final of the UEFA Champions League each year until the end of the 2026-27 season. The deal between RTVE and UEFA is a unique one, as no other matches from the tournament are shown on the channel. Pay-TV platform, Movistar+, holds the exclusive rights in Spain for all other Champions League matches.
Spanish public broadcaster RTVE has secured the rights to the Spain national team’s UEFA Nations League matches for the 2026 to 2027 cycle. This was part of a larger broadcast agreement with UEFA for the rights to La Furia Roja matches in UEFA tournaments from 2026 through 2028. Spanish viewers can watch Spain’s 2026-2027 UEFA Nations League games live and for free on RTVE.
RTVE is the official broadcaster in Spain for all UEFA European Championship qualifying matches involving the Spanish national team, having acquired the rights for the 2026 to 2028 cycle.

This means fans in Spain can watch Spain’s Euro 2028 qualifiers for free, live on RTVE. The public broadcaster also secured the rights to La Furia Roja’s matches at the Euro 2028 finals, should they qualify and have the opportunity to defend their title in the UK and the Republic of Ireland.
Spanish public broadcaster RTVE has secured exclusive rights in Spain to the Copa del Rey on both free-to-air and pay-TV for the 2025-26 and 2026-27 seasons, the latter of which it sublicensed to Movistar. Under this rights deal, fans in Spain can watch select Copa del Rey games live for free on RTVE, which operates free-to-air channels such as La 1 and La 2, as well as the sports-dedicated channel Teledeporte.

RTVE, the national broadcaster in Spain, owns the rights to the Women's Champions League in the country until the end of the 2029-30 season. The free-to-air broadcaster agreed the deal with UEFA, via the European Broadcasting Union (EBU), in time for the beginning of the 2025-26 season. As part of the agreement, at least one match from the competition is shown each game week, on top of all matches featuring Spanish teams, including Barcelona Women and Real Madrid Women.

About

RTVE Play history, coverage, features

RTVE.es is the internet website for Televisión Española. The website was launched to bring users of all television and radio networks owned by TVE closer to their content, while also adding more content that can be available only on mobile devices. It is managed by RTVE’s Interactive Media department

RTVE.es has sorted out content into different topics, such as general news, entertainment, sports, children’s programming, movies, and weather information. Added to that, the website has also offered blogs and access to podcasts.

One of the most useful features offered by RTVE.es over the years has been the possibility to watch or listen to all of TVE’s television or radio feeds via the website. If that was not enough, RTVE.es has also offered an on-demand feature which gives access to shows and events that have already been aired by its terrestrial networks, although some of the content aired on the network’s channels may be subject to geo-restrictions, especially when it comes to sports broadcasts.
