More progress on the 2 player box commission.

So I know I have been talking about how busy I have been with the Ravenwing commission that I had come in to the studio... Well I have to take a break from painting bikes and Space Marines... and its for a good reason.

What reason is that you ask? Well its simple really. I had a new player to Warmachine and Hordes contact me about painting up the Warmachine 2 player box set for him and his son because they both were interested in playing. Like I am going to say no to a newcomer to my favorite game of all time. So I spent the last week cleaning up and assembling the models and getting them primed and I have finally got some real paint on the models. So here we go.

So I finished up Kreoss late last night and I got some pictures this afternoon. I haven't done anything with his base yet because I am still trying to decide what I want to do with it. I still have my heart set on these Flagstone bases from Secret Weapon Miniatures.

I went a little lighter on the white than Privateer Press does and the red isn't as purplish as theirs either.

After several hours I got all the whites on the model. I started off by using the bone white triad from reaper as my bases and shadows and I did a little pure white for the final highlight

So the other day I picked up a 2 player battle box for Warmachine for me to use when doing demos. Well I am finally getting around to getting it painted. Figured since I have so much painted Khador that I will start with the Protectorate side of things.

I will go into the unboxing of the 2 player box a little later on.

So I got all the models cleaned up and I think I am going to prime them as I ready to paint them... That way I don't feel so overwhelmed again.

Okay... A little while back Privateer Press Announced that they are releasing a 2 player battle box for Warmachine that has everything that 2 people need to start playing the game. INCLUDING A MINI RULEBOOK!!!! It even has dice, a ruler stat cards for the models in the box... and models from BOTH Khador and Menoth. Now the box does retail for $99.99, which seems like a lot to get started, but if you split the cost with a buddy its a great deal. Besides to get you and a friend started with out this you each have to buy the battlegroup of your choice and a rulebook, and if you are new to the hobby... you even need to invest in the dice and tape measure or a ruler. Which the 2 battlegroups are going to pass up that $100 price tag real quick.

These boxes are released in September and they are probably going to be selling quick so get yours quick.

So this month is the release of the 2 player starter box for warmachine I have decided to pull some of my old stuff back off the shelf and I get more of it painted. Well in a game this past weekend I learned more about my Menoth are kinda useless. So I added a Vassal to my list I am hoping that this will help bolster my Jacks a little more.

So this is my unit of Knights Exemplar... I know... I know... I said I was going to paint deliverers next. But I put it to a vote over on the Privateer Press Forums and they voted that I should paint these guys first. So I did... Now over the next couple of days there will be lots of pictures to add because Wednesday is paint day up at the shop and I always manage to get a lot of stuff painted up there on paint day.

At paint day I am going to be painting the 2 Reclaimers that I picked up last week plus another Warcaster that I found in a big box of random models sitting in the old hobby room. Yes he is one of mine So I am going to get him all painted up and then pretty much all the Menoth stuff is done except for the deliverers which WILL be getting painted this week. I will probably break them up into 2 groups of 5 so that way it won't seem like its so many models to paint. So I am going to wrap this up for the night because I still have to post over on the PP forums and get all my stuff packed up so I can go up to the shop and paint.

Well I got my Castigator all done... and got his pictures taken just in time too... my batteries died in the camera. So I need to get more before I can take more pictures. But 600 pictures and 3 sets of batteries not all that bad I would think.

Anyway I am all done painting warjacks for these points lists until I either buy more or I get a special care package from one of my friends that I still have to pay him for.
