Spring Break 2009

Oh, how I am wishin' Spring Break could be two weeks, instead of just one! It was hard to get back in the groove yesterday after being gone for a week. We had a great week. Here it is in a nutshell. The boys and I left last Sunday and drove to Austin with Mom and Dad. We spent the week visiting with Marmee and Grandma Junie, hanging out, shopping (we found Collier a baptism outfit), playing at the park and having lots of fun. We had a St Paddy's Day party, had lunch in San Marcos with Shannon and J.W. and just had an overall fun, relaxing time. Thursday Mom took us to meet Gigi. Kenny met us at the farm later that night. The boys REALLY missed their Daddy (and vice versa). Karen, Steve and the kids came Thursday night too, so the kids got in some good cousin playtime. Friday we took all the kids to the Blue Bell Creamery. I think everyone in Texas had the same idea we did - it was crowded! Although, we did not get to take the tour (they were already full by the time we got there), we got to eat ice cream and watch a great video about how they make ice cream...oh, and jump in the bounce houses that looked like great big containers of Blue Bell ice cream! On the way home, we stopped to take pictures in the bluebonnets. They are especially pretty this year around Brenham and College Station. Carson was so funny - he tried SO hard not to step on the bluebonnets. Every time we would drive by somebody on the side of the road, he would say "look at those people just smashin' down the bluebonnets!"...straight out of Yaya's mouth! Friday night we celebrated Pawpaw's bday with Mexican food - yum! :) Saturday, we hung out at the farm, played, ate and visited. We left Sunday morning to come back to reality, laundry and a friend's bowling bday party. It was a great week. The boys had fun and did awesome (especially Collier, who was not on his normal sleep schedule). Here is a link to some of the pictures from our week...

Hope everyone is having a great week. The weather here this week is not as good as what we had last week...but we really need the rain, so no complaints!

Happy St. Patty's Day!

Hope everyone wore green today...you would have been pinched if you had been here (by Carson - he was on the look out) and had forgotten! I had to have a discussion with him before we went out this morning that we DO NOT pinch people we do not know, even if they are not wearing green...he said "Why?" We had a great St Patty's Day. Mom made a fabulous Irish dinner - corned beef, cabbage, potatoes, carrots, green lemonade and green pudding for dessert. YUM! Yaya and Carson decorated the table - it was very festive! We are having a great SB, but it is flying by too fast. Always does! Pics coming soon! Happy St Patty's day to all...

Yaya and Grumpy's Visit...

Mom and Dad came to Frisco for a visit last Wednesday. We had a great time. Mom and I went to the King Tut exhibit - fantastic - while Dad kept Collier and picked Carson up from school on Thursday. He really impressed all the Moms at KDO that he had it so together! Although the weather was horrible - rainy and COLD - we had a great time playing the Wii and staying in on Friday. They got to go to a Spiderman B-day party on Saturday afternoon (the highlight of their trip I am pretty sure!) and then kept the boys while Kenny and I went on a date. Sunday morning we all loaded up (minus Kenny) and headed to Austin. I have taken lots of cute pics of our Spring Break, but will probably create a Picasa web album, instead of posting one by one. Hope everyone is having the same kind of incredible weather we are having here. It was worth the yuckiness last week! Happy Spring Break!

Look who's pulling up...

So, my guess...walking is right around the corner. This guy is ON THE MOVE! He is crawling everywhere, pulling up on everything and thinking about trying out the stairs. We had to go buy one of those play play-yard gate systems (that we are calling "Collier's cage") to keep him contained! Whew...he is gonna keep us busy!

A Carson funny...

One morning last week, after a LONG night of teething and sleeplessness, Carson got up in a very diagreeable mood. Well, needless to say I was not in an especially good mood after a night of little sleep. I asked him not to do something, to which he promptly repeated. I looked at him and said "Carson do not push my buttons this morning...I am not in the mood for it!" A few minutes later he said "Mommy, I don't even know where your buttons are!" I just had to laugh, which made for a little better morning! :)

Sweet Baby...

I almost never have to wake Collier up...because he is an early riser, but the other morning we were running somewhere and he was still sleeping. When I went to wake him up, he was sound asleep wrapped up in his favorite blanket (from Sharron Collier Carnes - I love that he loves that blanket so much since it was from Sharron!), those two sweet fingers stuck in his mouth and his whole body pressed up against the rails of his crib. Oh, and he was missing one sock. It was laying on the floor in front of his crib - one of his newest tricks - sock removal! Oh, I wish they could stay this small and sweet forever!

My little Doctor/ Football Player/ Builder/ Super Hero/ etc...

Carson came downstairs the other day wearing his football pants, Bob the builder construction belt, scrub top and hat, a yellow rope and a blue princess ring (not sure where that came from actually). I said who are you? He said "I am a doctor, football player that builds stuff and climbs mountains." When I asked about the yellow rope, he said - That is to help me climb mountains, it keeps me from falling off. When I asked about the princess ring, he said - This is NOT a princess ring, it is a super power ring and when I point it, it shoots stuff out. Then he struck the pose above! Ahhh, the imagination of a 4 year old!

Startin' to rethink Spring Soccer...

We started a new season of soccer a few weeks ago and it has been SO COLD every Saturday. I don't mean a little breezy, I mean on top of a mountain in Colorado cold! The weather here has been nuts - Thursday we were wearing shorts, Saturday a ski jacket! The fact that the soccer fields sits elevated on top of a hill, with NOTHING to block the wind, does not help either. We tried to take some team pics on Saturday, but it really was just too cold. The boys could only stand to have their jackets off for a few minutes. Carson did awesome - amazing the difference a season makes. I still think he way more about the "social aspects" of soccer - i.e. seeing and playing with friends, but he is getting in there and making some contact with the ball. Collier went with us (Kenny was still feeling crummy with the flu), but I had to call Kenny to come get him - just too cold! I am ready for some pretty spring weather!
