Caroline's Dance Recital

This weekend was Caroline's dance recital. Yesterday afternoon she had dress rehearsal and then at noon today she had her recital. She woke up so excited about it this morning and couldn't wait to get dressed and go! Her studio performed the ballet, The Toy Makers Daughter, and it was really good. Caroline's class were the baby dolls and they were adorable and did great!

We were so proud of her and had so much fun watching her perform!

Memorial Day Weekend

On Saturday morning Amy, Jonathan, Emma, Maddie and Samuel flew in for a visit! It was so fun having everyone here for a long weekend. On Saturday we went to a park and explored a little and the kids just enjoyed playing with their cousins. Sunday we got up and went to Colorado Springs. We went to Garden of the Gods, ate lunch at Rudy's and then went to some cliff dwellings. Monday the guys played golf while we took the kids out to breakfast and then did a little shopping and then we all cooked out that night. Nana and Pawpaw left this morning and Amy and her family flew out this afternoon. We were sad to see them all go but we'll see them in a couple of weeks! Here are a few pictures from our weekend.

Chuck E Cheese Birthday Party

On June 2 Caleb and Caroline turn 5! We decided to go ahead and have their party this past Friday since Nana and Pawpaw were going to be in town. For several months they have been begging to have a Chuck E Cheese party so that's what we had! They invited a few friends from school, church, and our neighborhood and they had a blast! They played tons of games, ate pizza, had cake, danced with Chuck E and picked out a fun prize at the end. It was a great (and super easy for me) party and they loved it!

Pre-K Graduation!

Last Thursday Caleb and Caroline had pre-k graduation! We were so excited that Nana and Pawpaw were able to be there with us although we didn't get any pictures with them...oops!

After getting dressed in their cute caps and gowns they lined up with their class and walked into the gym. They sang a few songs and then each child's name was called out and they walked up to get their diploma. It was so sweet and we were so proud of them! After graduation we went back to their classroom where they had cake and lemonade and got to say goodbye to their teachers and friends.

We have been so blessed by Caleb and Caroline's school this year. It was a little scary moving to a new school, especially since we loved our old school, but it ended up being a perfect place for them this year. Both of their teachers were great and Caleb and Caroline both learned so much from them. And, all of the kids in their class were so sweet and we will miss them next year.

Kindergarten here we come!

New Mexcio

Last weekend we went to New Mexico to visit some of Brett's family. Brett's cousin and her family live on a ranch in New Mexico and their son was graduating from high school so a lot of family was in town. I have heard about the ranch for years but have never had the chance to go so I was excited to finally be able to plan a trip there. When we got there on Saturday they gave us a tour of the ranch. In the back part of the property are some old buildings from the 1800's--a church (that has been restored), an old school house, and an old house. No one has lived in this area since the 1920's. We also got to see cattle, some horses, antelopes, and turkeys.

That night we went into the closest town to spend the night. The town is about 30 minutes away and only has around 150 people living there. We stayed at a B&B that a family friend had recently opened. In our room was an alter and Caleb immediately folded his hands and started praying...so funny and so sweet!

Sunday we got up, had breakfast, and went to church to see Adam, the graduate, be honored. After church we headed back home but luckily Nana T got to come home with us for a few days!

Snow Day in May

Last Thursday we woke up to around 6 inches of snow! The kids were so excited and the weather wasn't too cold so they had a blast playing in the snow. It was in the 60's the next day so it quickly melted but it was fun while it lasted! You can't really tell how much snow we had in these pictures b/c the kids had been playing in it a while and it was already starting to melt. Crazy to have snow in May!

Sunset Cruise

Our last night in Maui we took a sunset cruise. The sunset ended up not being great that night but we enjoyed the boat ride anyways. The kids got to help drive the ship, we had some snacks, and saw some beautiful views. It was a great way to end a great trip!
