PRICELESS!!

What a stinkin fun day!!!  We went to Black Forest Farms with Makena's girl scout troop.  The girls had so much fun!!   This is what a day was all about..................

Pumkin Carvin...

Pumpkin, pumpkin big and round.... I am glad you grow upon the ground...becuz if you grew in a tree....you might just fall on me!!!  That is the poem Karli has been practicing all month in preschool!!

Man oh man did we have some pumpkins to carve this year!!!  The only thing I love about carving pumpkins is watching the girls faces as the get all the goo out of them.  I usually try to find fun things to do with the pumpkins that does not include carving, but this year the girls put their foot down!!  They wanted to carve...so carve them we did

 Lexi love to get the goo out of the pumpkin!!!  Makena will do it, but doesn't love it so much!!!  Karli will gut the pumpkin as long as she doesn't have to touch it.  She would do it with the spoon or not at all. I loved all the faces she pulled....from excited and happy to eww dross in a matter of seconds!!

 Here are some of the finished products.  Makena's was a witch, Lexi's was a scary one eating a baby one, and Karli's was a Kitty!  Shelby did join us but wasn't as excited about it!!  Her pumpkin was I love U!

Pumpkin Pickin....

 One of my favorite time of year is fall and pickin pumpkins is one of my most favorite activities!!!  Every year we go to a special place to pick them out and by far this year was the best pickin we have ever had.  We went to the Day Farm and had a hayride out to the pumpkin patch and we picked out our own!!  We got some big pumpkins this year for not very much money!!  The girls love the patch...especially Karli.  She kept going from pumpkin to pumpkin saying..."this is the one".."no this is the one"..."no this is the one"..you get the idea.  We finally had to give her a nudge to get her to really pick one.  The girls were all happy with their choices and we all had a blast!!!

The girls were singing I am a mean old witch with a hat, I ride on my broom with my hat, my nose is pointy and my chin is too, you better be careful or I might scare you...BOO!!!!  Notice the girls were wearing short sleeves and even flip flops!!!  It was still so warm..it seemed a little weird going to pick pumpkins.

Cowgirl up!!!

What a bunch of cute Cowgirls! 

 You all know that Lexi is in love with horses...I think the feeling has rubbed off on all her sisters.  One day my friend called us and said she was taking her girls riding and asked if we wanted to go!  I am sure you can figure out what the answer was.  The girls couldn't wait.  They all put on their cowgirl boots and we were out the door.  You would have thought that they had died and gone to heaven.  They each got to ride the horse at least three times and they loved every second.  Then we headed back to the barn...played on the haystacks and fed the stinky cow.  The every day chores that they do seemed like  a once and a lifetime thing to my girls.  Who knew that feeding a smelly cow would be so exciting!!!

 Oh how my girls would love to get a horse!!!  I dont' know how many times Lexi has asked Santa for one!!!  I wish I could do that for them.  There are too many...how do we make that happens!!!  Where do we put it?  How do we cart it around?  Besides the fact that a horse is just a little more than a pet!
I wish I could make Lexi's dream come true, but maybe some day!  Some day she will become that gorgeous little rodeo queen struttin her stuff in her wranglers, boots, and hat!!!

Bring on the Babysitter!

So my Shelby has become quite the babysitter!  The funnest part is she loves it!  (as long as it is not her sisters)  Go figure!  She has created a little babysitting bag that she takes every time she babysits.  It is full of fun games and activities for the kids and her prize box.   When she gets to the house she tells the kids if they are good and help her she will give them a ticket...then at the end of the night they can trade in all the tickets they have earned for something out of her prize box.   She is so cute with the kids!!!  There is one lady that loves her so much she has given her the basketball schedule for the whole season and asked her to babysit.   So anyone needing a good babysitter give her a call!!!  But it doesn't apply to me..because she hates babysitting for me!  RUDE!  I never thought I would be to this stage in my life when I didn't have to call a sitter...but I am and I love it.  Even if she doesn't!

Fall Soccer...

 Shelby was my only one who wanted to play soccer!  She loves it...it is a toss up as to whether she likes soccer or dance more. 

It was a fun season.  Man I didn't realize how much hustle she has and how competitive she is!!  Just like her mom quite a few years back.  Now soccer was not big when I was growing up, so I don't know that much about the game play and the rules.  So when I started to get competitive myself and ask why Shelby was doing something.  She would say to me "do you know the rules? cuz if you don't be quiet?"
So I cheered her on and tired to keep the competitive side of me be silent. She played mid-fielder and boy was she good at it.  The offense didn't have a chance with Shelby in there.  She hustled, and she wasn't afraid to get in there and get after the ball.

Becuz of her competitive nature she was not very impressed with her team.  I think they were like 1-10.  Every game she would be so upset!!  I tried to tell her the it is not about winning...it is about having fun!!  When secretly I was thinking...."what the heck?  let's stop standing around and go after the ball!" Hopefully, they will have a better spring season!  But they did have a very nice coach who happened to have a pool in her back yard and that is how they ended the season!!  With a big pool pizza/pool party....in October!!!

I have to admit that soccer is not my favorite sport.  I think it is mostly because I don't know much about it.  But also because the games are bright and early on Saturday's and for the most part you freeze your little tooshies off!!!  Great job Shelby.....I am so proud of you!  I always thought Shelby would be my little dancer on the drill team or cheerleader.  But it looks like I just might get to cheer her on in sports!!  So excited!!

My legs are busy!!!

My girls favorite new thing this fall was to hike to the M.  One night I had a recipe thing at my house and instead of going to the park.  My hubby decided to take the girls all the way up to the M.  Now to do that as a family together with such little girls is one thing.  It is entirely another when he decides to take them up there all alone.  Thank goodness they all made it home safely.  It is a lot steeper than is looks. 

So the next time they went...they talked me into going.  It was really fun!!  We didn't make it all the way to the M becuz it was going to get dark on us.  But we still had fun!!  Karli is hilarious though..whenever she got tired and didn't want to hike anymore she would say..."My legs are busy"!!!

Ever since then whether we are on a walk, going thru a corn maze, or just walking in the mall.  When she doesn't want to do it anymore she says, "My legs are busy"!!

Little Eggs!

Do you remember the chicks we very briefly had at the end of last school year?  We gave them to a neighbor and she she reports that they are doing great!  One day we came home to these cute little eggs on our doorstep.  These eggs are from our chicks or chickens I should say!!  The girls were so excited!They couldn't believe these came from their chickens.  My neighbor was so cute to bring these to us!!!  It made my girls day!!  They couldn't wait to try them!

Me and my germy ways...picked up one and said, "ewww this came out of that chickens butt!"  Shelby said, "where do you think the ones you buy at the store come from?"  Of course I know that but for some reason it just feels better to buy them from the store.   I know I am a little strange!

Conference Socks!

My girls love conference weekend and this is why!!!  I started doing this about 4-5 conferences ago and the girls love it.  They can't wait for what they are going to get to do!  This is the first time I have done a Halloween theme...which seems crazy because conference is in October.  But it was way fun!!!

On conference weekend...which is for the most part on Sunday.  I make each of the girls a bucket or basket full of goodies and fun things and then I include a conference activity packet they can do while they are watching conference.  The only time they can eat their goodies in their bucket is while they are watching conference.  We set up a card table in front of the TV, with lots of crayons and markers.  We are all set!

Here are a couple of samples of what the girls got to do..  Kena and Karli got to trace the names of the Apostles.  All the girls got a sheet with a bunch of ties and every time their was a speaker they had to color the tie of that person.  Karli was hilarious!  She kept saying...do I need to color his bow?  Even in church the following Sunday, she asked if she needed to color the bow of the speaker.  I think she had a lot of fun.  They were all very entertained and full of goodies through the first session of conference.

This year I added one more thing to our buckets!!  Our conference socks!  The girls loved them and kept them on all day.   In Kena's prayers that night she prayed that when the prophet speaks that we would feel warm fuzzy feeling.  I love when the show you that they actually listen! 

So the girls got these glow in the dark suckers and so we had to try them out!!  I love the girls faces in the second picture.  The light was actually off so it was pitch dark before the flash.  The little ones had their eyes covered so they wouldn't be scared.  What a great conference!!  I love when my girls listen cuz that means mama gets to listen.  I love being spiritually fed!  Can't wait for April!

This time we got a special treat...Lexi made us conference cookies.  They put them together at Activity Days so all she had to do was add a few other ingredients and bake.  She made them all by herself.  She mixed it together, added the other ingredients, put them on the cookie sheet and baked them.  I love the picture of her waiting for the cookies in her conference socks.  The cookies were delish!!!  By the time this day was over there was no need for lunch or dinner.  The were pretty filled and hyped up with SUGAR!



Rock it Baby!

Could this girl get any more attitude?  Before I took this picture she was in the house saying...."Rock it baby" and "I am so cute and sexy!"  I am so glad she has such high thoughts about herself!! Her Dad tells her all the time that she is perfect...her response follows..."I know!"  When daddy is not around she politely reminds me that she is perfect...especially when she gets in trouble.

Here are some of the funny things she has said lately...

She followed be into my closet, turned off the light, closed the door, and asked "Are you freaked out yet?"

On a daily basis when she is looking all over the house for me she says--"Mom...where ya are?"

She loves preschool and asks everyday if she gets to go to school.  On Tues. she gets to bring show-and-tell so on those days she says it is bring your animal (stuffed) to school day!  She has memorized a bunch of poems and songs and it is so fun to listen to her.

She just recently started dance and she is so dang cute.  She makes me laugh.  Whenever the teacher tries to get her to do a front roll she does a dive on the ground.  She twirls, leaps, plies, walks the balance beam, and has a blast. She loves to watch herself in the mirror too. It is pretty entertaining to watch.  But I know that she feels like a big girl now...just like her big sisters.

Smurftastic Day!

What a Smurftastic Day!!!!  Last week Lexi was suppose to participate in a 3rd grade singing program. It just so happened to fall on the same day as all our other things.  Thursdays are busy..dance for all 4 girls and soccer.  So I made her a proposal.  I asked her if she would be willing to miss her program, just her and I would go and have lunch and watch a movie!! It took her about 1 second to say "Okay!"  I thought she would be a little more upset than that...but the problem was solved.

So Saturday we missed Shelby's soccer game and headed to the Smurfs.  It was a really cute movie and Lexi loved it.  We ate lunch at the mall and did some shopping!  Every girls perfect day!  We went to one of my favorite stores..Bath and Body Works and this is where Lexi became the smellinator!!!  We put so many different perfumes on her..on her neck, 3 on each arm, and we even had to use her knees.  We had so much fun and Lexi didn't want it to end. 

We had so much fun, that I am going to start doing that more with all of my girls.  Just one on one...mom & daughter time.
The rest of the day became the use the "smurf" word as much as possible day!  Some of my favorites...smurfilious, I smurf you, I want to smurf you, and you are such a smurfdo! Lexi also decided to pick which smurf best fit all of us and this is what she came up with.....

Lexi is Clumsy!!  Which is the truth.  She is my "if anything is going to happen it will happen to Lexi" kid. She is always spilling things, breaking things, etc..  But best of all she is just what it says in this description of Clumsy..  She is very kind and lovable and it doesn't take much to make her feel happy.  She always puts others first and is very sweet and caring.

Shelby is Jokey smurf!!!  She is our little instigator of most everything.  She loves to start fights and cause problems.  She also loves to tease people and try to get at you.  She is a very exciting and entertaining person.  She can keep you laughing that is for sure and she is so fun to be around.  I always tease her that she has the most Lynam blood in her.  You should see her and her dad go at it.  And then times that by 10 when we around my hubby's family!

Makena is Smurfette!  What can I say....she is just the sweetest thing!  It says that Smurfette is sweet and emotional.  She cries a lot especially when someone gets hurt. She is very smart.  She likes to be surrounded by her family and animals.  She hates messes and despises getting dirty!  That is pretty much Makena to a T!!  She is definitely a girly girl! 

The day we came home...."Dad is definitely Grouchy Smurf"  Lexi said.  For that day he was...but most days he is the furthest from Grouchy smurf.  He could be Brainy smurf, Handy smurf, and even Hefty smurf.  Dad wears lots of smurf hats and we love everyone.  If anyone is Grouchy smurf...it would be me.  I do not like change, I do tell people how I feel, and I do have an outer shell.  But I am a loving and caring person...I promise! 

We all decided that Karli is Gusty smurf!  She is adventurous and she definitely has a tough-girl attitude.  She is not afraid to try to new things and loves being wild and crazy!  She can also make all 3 of her bigger sisters cry!!  Some could call her a bully and I hope I don't spend many a day in the Principal's office when she gets older.  She can stand on her own two feet!!  We went to the park one day and there were two little boys trying to scare her and chase her around.  We started whimpering and ran, but then Karli kicked in and within a couple of minutes they were running away from her.  I am not worried about her getting stepped on...becuz she is going to be doing the stepping.  But even though she is tough...she can melt me with her hugs!!!

While we were at the mall Lexi wanted to do the photo booth!!  So here is our pictures!!!  Thanks for the fun day Lexi!!
